ACP is a one way contract. The AF can let you out of it but they do not have to. If so, you have to pay back unearned parts of the bonus.

Hah, boldface in navy land.
Crew, canopy, cords, crouch, dive, pull
Hope the horizontal stab doesn't hit you on the way out.
Don't know why that penguin hasn't been pushed off the iceberg yet...
What happened to the harness? Did it get removed?
...cords, harness, crouch...

It may be a change in stance very recently. Or, just the fact that there's always an exception!

Maybe, my insider information says no, but each is judged on a case by case basis.

I'm pretty sure it's only a service commitment. I've never heard of anyone in a "flying commitment".
As for flying as an IMA, AFMC/A3 said a few weeks ago that AFRC was granting NO flying waivers for IMA's. We used to have a bunch of flying IMA's but after the reg changed a few years ago they became all non-flying. We were trying to get waivers for some, but guess that's not happening now.

Interesting since there is at least one FAC 6 waiver that was granted to an IMA within the last year...so maybe the AFMC/A3 didn't hear right. Or maybe it was that AFRC didn't want to push that particular waiver ??

Looks like the only thing available on DOD IG website is Fraud Waste and Abuse complaint form... same thing?
They take other complaints. Not sure of the form but you can write it out on a bar napkin and they will take it. Don't take no for an answer. The website specifically says complaints of mismanagement.

Use the DOD IG if you go that route.
Edit: also if you are writing your Congressman, don't write them and file an IG at the same time. Takes longer and they won't both look into it. Pick one and then wait for result then maybe do the other if still needed.

What's wrong with the AF is getting sidelined on automation discussions...
Back to your regularly scheduled topic.

I think most IMAs are non-flying. There are some that have API-6 waivers that allow them to fly. Those are the exception though.

Does anyone know when the deadline is for the upcoming AFRC rated board is? I know it's soon if it hasn't already passed, and I'm trying to ensure my recruiter gets everything in on time. Haven't been able to make contact with him for a bit, so I'm just getting nervous that I'm gonna miss it and end up waiting an extra six months for the next board.
Just dug up the info today. For the upcoming AFRC board, packages were due 28 April. There is a new AFRC UPT process guidebook that was published on 1 March 17.
I will try to post it here later. It's on a sharepoint and I don't think the link will work..

One year

And you can file paperwork with your local TMO to extend it for a year...one year at a time.

Thanks. I never even thought about that at all.
CCs don't get a report but it is in your personnel data within PRDA, IIRC. They can tell who has or hasn't but they must look it up individually from what I remember .

Soon AFRC will have a board every ~6 weeks or so. Not sure exactly when that starts but it has already been approved, from what I am told.

Really doesn't matter if he did it on AD or not. As long as he's drawing retirement, Uncle Sugar can recall him back, and punish him via the UCMJ per 10 U.S. Code § 80. The Marines just did that to a retired Gunnery Sergeant who committed his crimes years after retiring. He's now in prison and will be getting a Dishonorable Discharge.

Didn't say it wasn't possible, only drawing a distinction between Flynn and Lichte due to their status at the time of their "misconduct."

Archie Lichte lost two stars due to an accusation from an accuser who wouldn't even state on a sworn statement her accusation.
About things that "allegedly" happened while he was still on active duty. Not the case with Flynn, at least from what we know so far.

Does having a board every six weeks provide more sponsorship opportunities or simply process selected applicants faster?
Finding a unit to sponsor you remains the same. Unsponsored applicants, in some circumstances, seems to have generated some unintended consequences.
Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums -
There are no more unsponsored boards (my info is a couple of weeks old and subject to change). Also, maybe already mentioned but AFRC boards are going to be every 6 weeks or so...starting soon.

$20T in debt. Should be $200 for four years. Still incredibly cheap for the benefits received.
$20T that doesn't need to be paid for on the backs of those that serve. How about entitlement reform across the board instead of singularly on the backs of Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines. When that occurs then come back and let's talk.
FYI, you don't have to defend every terrible, short sighted policy that Congress tries to pass. If you picked your battles on here then more people might actually listen when it matters.

I took it to be about the clause in there that says you don't have a right of return to your ARC job. Meaning that if you take this, you have to go see an in-service recruiter and re-apply at the Guard/Reserve unit you left rather than just sliding back into your old position sts.
My take is this seems half-assed if they actually wanted to get fish on the line. If you're in the IRR, could be a good deal to expedite your way back in. But for dudes sitting on even a DSG/TR ARC position, this doesn't make a ton of sense unless you want to jump on one of the special programs. Why give up a long-term deal (ARC membership in a unit you chose) for a short-term deal (3 years on AD) with no guarantees beyond that?
Are they going to let you pick your base? Why no $$ thrown in? Why not guarantee right of return to your ARC unit?
Are dudes in the selected reserve really having a hard enough time finding Title 10 orders that this would be a good deal?
Kind of smells like a half-hearted box checking step before more drastic measures are put in place to help arrest the unintentional stall in pilot manning...
Believe it or not, there are lots of VLPAD apps being processed.

Have you seen the retirement benefit for teaching at USAFA? Your retire as an O-7, no shit, no matter what rank below that you actually retire at. Somebody will call BS and look it up, but it's true.
No...
Saw Tanker Toads explanation and he is correct.
Changed to avoid further digression.

You need JPME II to be promoted above O-6. I wouldn't sweat it unless you have those aspirations. There are some great jobs out there that you need JPME II to get but usually they will send you to school if needed. YMMV.
ETA: this may be different for ARC guys looking for long term RPA/MPA jobs.

Think that will hold up during an IG investigation for a CONUS base in a nice city?
Yes because he has the authority to do so. It used to be in the JFTR not sure if still in the JTR.
Over more than 20 years and 6 trips to an FTU I have seen the policy multiple times...stayed where I wanted, both lodging and not, and never gotten or seen anyone get paperwork.
YMMV.

I've been trolling Toro for years to release that, I need to find a new target......
You should try to find Lt Smalley, I think it was, that wrote the letter to the CGOC at F.E. Warren suggesting that they not participate in a pub crawl in Ft. Collins or better yet the female from Ramstein that responded. That email made it around at the GO/FO level by the time it was done.

Probably deciding which to put first on each line.
Quite possible...but typically don't see too many cgo strats on one of those (that make it to col)
I would agree but...
Ive seen quite a few that included every #1 or top 5%-ish strat in the record. When the first couple of lines are covered in those and they are all through the career and continuing higher level strats then most people get the picture trying to be painted. I would add that there has to be more including continued top tier job performance throughout that shows that the guy didn't quit along the way.
Every ROP is different and every PRF has to tell that story.
Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums -
I'm assuming he already has each of those strats on an OPR somewhere and he's building a PRF.
If that's the case he should probably use all of them.

AMC units I have been in for years have had a contractor to manage the program on stand alone computers, IIRC.
