  1. I would be all in for a guard / reserve slot. All my contacts in Dover have moved on when they started the transition to C-17s. Is there a place to find current openings for C-5 slots on the guard /reserve? I checked baseops and it looks like spam has gotten the job postings.
  2. Just about to finish up my fixed wing private pilot should be 40 hours on the dot. Anyone have any insight on how age waivers are looking right now for Active Duty? I've already got a bach, with 4 years in the Air Force on the C-5 as a loadmaster. I'm 37, so I wasn't sure if I'd be able to subtract 4 years from my age for already active duty served time? If that's the case my age would be 33, would I even need a waiver? My goal is to get back on the C-5 or C-17. Would prefer to return to Fred as I really enjoyed the mission. I've been studying for the AFOQT for close to a year with two study guides I got off Amazon, and with my recent private pilot knowledge feel like I'd fair really well on the test. Currently doing 50 pushups, 75 sit ups, and managing the 2 mile run on average in 18 minutes. Never been a runner, even when I was active before. Thanks for any insight!!
  3. 37. So even if they take 4 years off I'd still be a year too old. Wonder if the Navy does age waivers?
  4. Anyone know if it's possible to cross train to Rotary if you have a commercial multi in fixed wing with a CFII? Also have there been any updates on the updated polygraph test since they where getting so many failures? I've found a few articles pointing out changes but they go back to Aug 2018 and can't find anything more current than that to know if the standards have changed or will be changing. Thanks!
  5. Just about to finish up my fixed wing private pilot should be 40 hours on the dot, at Sun N Fun this year I talked to the Army WOCS recruiters about getting an age waiver approved and they took down my information and seemed confident it was worth my time to pursue. Anyone have any insight on how those are looking right now? I've already got a bach, with 4 years in the Air Force on the C-5. I've already got my age waiver written out according to standards, and have the entire packet ready to hand to a recruiter so they don't have to do anything, just schedule my test which I've been studying off / on close to 6 months. I've read about every Rotary book you can buy on Amazon, so I think I've got a good idea it's not going to be like living in 5 star Hotels like the Air Force. Thanks!
  6. Former C-5 Loadmaster. When I got out none of the reserves where hiring due to the Airline down turn. I see now that Heavies are looking for Pilots. If you get picked up by a reserve squadron, do you still attend this same UPT? I couldn't tell from reading through the posts. I see a lot of talk about selection, and was thinking. If you are coming in from the reserves you probably are already guaranteed an air frame. Thx,
