  1. I generally just lurk around these parts but saw this thread so I'll add my $0.02. IoT (internet of things), aka machines talking to machines. I for one will bow to my skynet overlords one day and hope that they will see this post and spare me to a life of meaningless servitude. personally I'm in heavy with SWIR which has doubled in the past few months from my entry point at $20 but I still see plenty of room to keep going and think it could be a triple digit stock from here. Earnings from this past quarter in February will be telling. Do your due diligence! Good luck.
  2. ahh...thanks...was worried there for a bit ;)
  3. I generally only come here to lurk but found it 'interesting' that there is a political ad for gun background checks on the front page of Baseops.net; kinda makes me sad.
  4. In light of this question- http://www.silencershop.com/shop/aac-evolution-9/ FYI-not affiliated nor did I buy one. Saving up for a Dillon 1050 first...
  5. I don't come here to often any more and when I do I lurk but figured I had to show off my new baby and it's older sibling: The lowers are pretty much the same: AXTS Weapons SSA trigger BADASS 45 degree safety SLAP plate Magpul CTR and MIAD grip SBR: Vltor Mur1A upper Raptor CH BCM BCG Seekins MSVR 2 keymod rail BCM 11.5 standard barrel Gemtek Trek Aimpoint H1 Magpul MBUS It's older sibling is becoming a competition/3 Gun rifle and still needs a newer longer barrel but it is a BCM 16" middy with a VTAC alpha rail, Burris MTAC w/ a Warne Skel mount. Need to get out and zero everything. That is all...
  6. cellphone video of crash: http://jalopnik.com/...dium=socialflow
  7. Haven't been here in a bit but thought I'd let some of you know that we're trying to kick these gun grabbers out: http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/politics/recall-petition-for-state-senator-angela-giron-deemed-sufficient-by-secretary-of-state http://www.redstate.com/2013/06/18/morse-recall-supporters-clear-major-hurdle-in-colorado-recall-effort/ I helped with the Morse recall even though I'm in District 9 (near USAFA). First time ever being 'political.' I was just a foot soldier gathering petitions a few weekends but glad we pulled it off. Now I just hope we put up a strong candidate to finally remove him for good.
  8. I have a Mossberg 930 for 3Gun and a 500 (with a side saddle) for HD along with my AR. Either way, put a light on it so you can see what you are aiming at. BTW, I personally believe if you are going to shoot an intruder in your house, shot to stop, not annoy--aka buckshot. This is what I have loaded (not my review...lol): (I don't have any kids so I'm not worried about other people in other rooms) As for the 930 shooting--great price and only issue I had is really really light birdshot. Any buck, slug and all 7 1/2 1100 fps+ birdshot cycles great. But I clean the crap out of it every time a shoot it and spray silicon spray on the piston. I have heard people having problems with the 930 so I go overboard but I haven't. The SPX is a good gun. Only mod I would recommend is getting an oversize safety to be able to find it fast when the pressure situation happens. (Both my 930 and 500 have them-easy to install). Of course throwing on a longer mag tube gives you more rounds (min has an 8 round mag tube).
  9. Not in the game anymore myself but that it just haunting. Video here: http://jalopnik.com/deadly-afghan-plane-crash-caught-by-dash-cam-in-this-ho-485974117
  10. This is why i bought a cheap FOSCAM that can motion detect and send me emails direct to my iphone. Also using the iPhone app I can to talk through the camera and let anybody in the house know, "Hey %^&*, I've called the cops, get the $%^&*( out!" Safe + security camera better than just safe. (IMHO)
  11. What barrel/comp is that?
  12. Springfield Armory 5.25 9mm Mossberg 930 SPX converted for 3Gun (welded lifter, extended magtube, XS sights) Custom AR (BCM 16 middy upper with SSA trigger)--plan up upgrading that to an 18" rifled system down the road
  13. Mostly lurk here but thought I would through this up from my match last weekend if anybody is ever interesting in shooting 3Gun
  14. I already had about 20 PMAGs but bought another 5 windowed versions just out of principle. The largest (I believe) gun shop in Co Springs has also talked about moving out. Think a gutted Walgreens Pharmacy full of guns. It's not my favorite place but they do have selection. I hope they do move too. "readily convertible" = illegal in CO. So every 10 Round PMAG is also illegal along with most other magazines: http://youtu.be/2sMhECnrNYQ
  15. You beat me to it. While I like it, as a exercise in thinking two steps down the road: 1. Private FFLs would not do it unless they were reimbursed. 2. You could set up an FFL check at local DMVs and let the State or Fed handle funding. Both parties come in (w/o the gun) do the check, depart the area and trade/sell the gun(s). 2a. the 4473 would have to be adjusted as nobody is logging a gun in then out. 2b. there would be no record, just a check of criminal background history and legality of owning a firearm 2bi hell you could do this to check on your new live in nanny and I bet more people would use it for that than firearm transfers but it would be nice to have that ability to check someone out 2bii I get great thoughts when loading my shotgun. Instead of both parties having to be there, they could individually walk in and do the check. They would receive a form indicating the check was complete and a code could be given. Each party could swap codes and call them into an automated phone number where it would advise of the check's outcome. Computers and science could solve it but if it is like DTS then nobody would use it. Let Apple develop it! I have bought plenty of guns online from dealers, gunbroker and internet gun forums. I have also bought from people who frequent a local gun forum that has a trading post. I showed my CCW, he showed me his. Boom, checks complete, sell complete, good to meet ya, say "hi" on the forums some time. The chances that some gangbanger is kicking back, listening to Bones Thug-N-Harmony while smoking his medical MJ and surfing my local trading post looking to buy a Glock is about as realistic as some of the stats I've seen today. I wouldn't mind seeing the option that busdriver and helodude formulated but likewise it costs $$... I did the homework for him, just bumping this down to the next page in case anybody goes straight there.
