Poland’s syndrome (Brachymesophalangeal triphalangy type), a congenital deformity consisting of ipsilateral absence of the pectoralis major muscle and in some cases syndactyly.

My brother has the above condition. He was able to attain an FAA Class 1 flying physical but is required to get a 1,000 test done every year to renew it.

It's a long shot...but is that wavierable?

I cannot imagine that he would ever get a waiver for this for flying. Perhaps just to get in the USAF, but not to fly.

Thanks, I thought I would check for him. He is very smart, did well on the MCAT, ran x-country in H.S..... just has the above condidtion...but he never knew about it til he went and got a test...I mean the kid ran a marathon relay with me last summer...he ran 12 miles averaging 6min/mile.

Anyway...if a military flying career is out of the question..wish him luck on a civilian one...he is almost done with his private and is about to spend some serious $ to get his ratings.
