Orland MOB, Norway - The local area has lots to see. There is a WWII German gun emplacement and a manor that has portions dating back to the 1100's in nearby Austratt. Only a 55 minute boat ride from Trondheim. Watch out though, beers on the local economy are usually about $7! Hotel Kysthotell (phone: +4772513300/fax +4772513301) was decent. About 5 minutes from the base located on a Marina with lots of boat action to see. Beds are small and rooms are clean. Service is good and folks are friendly. Great breakfast in the morning included and they open early if you ask. Dinner across the street at the other hotel's restaurant. Wi-Fi in the lobby overlooking the marina, what more could a modern warrior need.
