  1. Terrible and Godspeed to the warriors.  The last full measure.

Side note, speculating on names or revealing classified is obviously a no-no.  But discussing possible causes etc is not only fine, but probably a good thing so we can all learn about issues we might have never encountered.  As an example, i was discussing this with a friend who flew the civilian version, and he mentioned something about engines at high altitude i didn’t even know could be an issue. So whether that was a cause i don’t know but i did learn something.  If i would ever be in a fatal crash i would hope my brothers could learn something from it.

the eager beavers of “stop” are just trying too hard to be the mature “been there done that” guys. When you have actually “been there done that” you see the value in dialogue.

  2. It does.  The Russians are a shell of their Cold War selves, but they're still a shell with nukes.  They probably wouldn't appreciate their dudes getting killed.  I don't think they'd go full retard, but they might cut off energy supplies to Western Europe right as winter hits.  They'll let the Germans suffer for a few weeks, then offer to turn the spigots back on if we leave Assad alone.  They'll point out he's not nearly as bad as ISIS after all and this would reduce that nasty refugee problem that's been in the news so much.  They're gambling that with us having an election upcoming, the current administration will opt to declare victory and go home so the issue disappears before the primaries.  How Obama reacts, I have no idea.

Assad created ISIS.  Both literally and figuratively.... people hate dictatorships, they all fall eventually.  But since we didnt support the real moderate opposition (Doctors lawyers and pharmacists and obama infamously said) now we are left with ISIS.  Assad can never regain control of his country, even with Russia.

  3. Ugh. Someone's got dick issues. Anyway....

*Warning* Very graphic. NSFW / lunch etc etc
Doesn't seem that long ago we were doing runs into Tikrit. I specifically recall hauling flag draped HR containers out of there. For what? This?
    F'n horrific:

    Religion of Peace strikes again.

This is exactly why we must not relent. We are not war fatigued, we are just tired of living in a world with evil people, but unfortunately we cannot choose what attrocities people do and dont commit.

  4. Received this little doozy, and I thought we had a pilot shortage....

    Subject: Hat/Uniform wear

    HI All,

We have been reminding you about uniform wear and hats in the parking lot over the last few weeks, but it has officially hit its limit. The Wing/CC was eating out at a local restaurant and saw another member of the Ops Group not wearing their hat when they should have been. This seems like a small issue, but it has gotten out of hand. If we truly believe we are the best KC-135 unit we need to show it on and off the base.

Effective immediately if you are observed not wearing hats or the uniform correctly, aircrew will be grounded for 30 days and limited to that month's drills only. Non aircrew will be limited to that month's drills only. AGRs will receive a letter of counseling and grounded if appropriate.

IF you need help with uniform wear see AFI 36-2903 or the 1st Sergeant

  5. Guys,

Gen. Welsh has his mind and his leadership absolutely in the right place. You cant turn around a carrier on a dime...it takes time. I understand the culture of complaining about everything (i do it too) but this guy is spot on. On top of the changes, he is showing the culture he wants to create, and hopefully inspiring the next generation of leadership to do the same thing. One man cant change a huge bureaucracy even if he is the boss, overnight. But he can and is sure putting us on a far better track.

Dont search for defeat amidst a victory.

  6. and takes out 30 of our own soldiers to kill the #157 most wanted terrorist on the US watch list.

Maybe Im overly sensitive here, but this crosses a line in my mind to even joke about.

  7. I am not very religious anymore, but I grew up going to sunday school for the majority of my younger years. I remember hearing how one should "pray" and it was never supposed to be in public "beating your chest". It was better to pray in private and just be humble in your everyday life. Not saying he shouldn't be proud of his faith, and good on him for winning. I just don't find actions like that very genuine. It seems more like a showoff type of thing to do.

It's kind of like having someone you work with who is incredibly proud of being gay. They can go on all day long about how great it is to suck some c&ck, but I really don't want to hear about it or see it.

Unbelievable. As if praying publically really effects you? And if it does you may want to look a little closer at why that offends you.

You misinterpret the passage, it refers to loudly talking about how awesome you are and how you are so much more of a public servant, not simply praying, silently, in public.

And dude, silently praying in public is no where near the same thing as being a gay.

This country has come a long way from where we used to be if this is a controversy and good military guys are taking the side of the Michael moore types (not saying you specifically are Fud.)

  8. The breakdown of discipling comes from the air force teaching enlisted folks thats its cool to correct officers. I remember learning that our job was to kill people and break their toys. No one should be correcting people that actually go outside of the wire unless that personal failed to kill bad people or break their stuff. Otherwise STFU and know your role. That is all.
