Hello, I'm currently in the Navy and was disqualified from being a pilot due to my pre-lasik refractive error (+4.25/+3.5 sphere). I'm currently looking into other options, including the Air Force if I'm able to obtain a waiver. According to the most recent waiver guide I could find, Lasik is waiverable for pre-op errors up to +5.00 diopters. I had Lasik 5 years ago and have been 20/20 since with no complications (no flaps, haze, etc.), so I've got that going for me. Dumb question, but does anyone have a feel on how likely I am to get a waiver, or will I just have to gamble and hope the board is feeling generous?
