Any other CSO-Selects get their orders yet? My RNLTD is only 2 months away (03 May)! I just received mine yesterday and I'm knocking out local checklists, but are we expected to hear anything from NAS Pensacola? (Welcome letter, sponsor, etc) or are we expected to reach out? I'm trying to figure out my HHGs and if I'm expecting if I'll be in the dorms, or if I'd be off-base (only if dorms are full). And any other type of info like that.

I got my orders and was able to push my PDD up so I can buy a house down there. If you’re unaccompanied you’ll be on base, but you can request to live off base. Just call the STUS# on the welcome packet.

RNLTD 3 May with classes starting in June.

Only guessing but that might be water survival. Pretty sure it's a pre-req for flying at Pensacola. If they're still doing it at the pool in Spokane it's a good time

"Back in my day" they sent us to IFT then SERE/Water Survival back to back before starting UCT.

This is Physio training. Looks like you have the same dates as me bro!!

If yours is the same we’re going to Parachute/Water survival on 3-4 June and Physio 26-28 June

RNLTD To Pcola is 3 May

I will accept any and all unsubstantiated rumors that give me hope

Okay guys to technically the definition of middle is “the point of position at an equal distance from the sides, edges, or ends of something”, therefore with 31 days in January the middle of the month is 15 and that means the 16-31 qualify as late January. Assuming that nothing is coming out today & with only 9 duty days left in the month that leaves us with an 11.11111111111111% chance that results will come out each an every day, and 100% chance that results will come out by 31 Jan.

Unfortunately I found out on my own via other means in early November, and it was too late to submit a package by then.

Dropped about $25k getting my PPL, took countless days of leave (many wasted due to poor weather/winds), and sacrificed quite a few leadership opportunities to obtain it. That’s also not including being on three deployments in 2023, one of which required me to fly a few times just to get back to the proficiency level I was at before I deployed.

Again, will have to apply for the 2025 cycle after developing some quantifiable leadership metrics. I’m happy that my leadership has my back, but I would be lying if I didn’t say that this is not a very pleasant time in my life now. I’m not certain if this is standard for my neck of the woods or if it’s me in particular experiencing this. Would have been nice to at least obtain some kind of acknowledgment.

The only thing leadership did on my behalf was sign my letter of rec & my AF215. From my understanding it’s our responsibility to submit everything signed via MyVector.

Anyone know how leave is taken through UPT if selected? It's roughly 2 years long, which would accrue 60 days, but most of us have plenty of leave we need to use before even leaving. I can't imagine us having to forfeit it.

From my buddies in UPT & UCT right now they pretty much can only take leave during the holidays & inbetween blocks. Like my buddy that just dropped 135s right before he went to altus he took like 27 days of leave. They don’t get Family days unfortunately

From everything I’m gathering, they are scoring this like an Enlisted Force Distribution Panel (EFPD) - refer DAFI36-2406. Board members will have wiggle room to place value on the different grading criteria(leadership/adaptability&potential/aptitude). For example, board member 1 could place more value on WG/CC ranking, while board member 2 could place more value on awards/decs/OPRs. So the same package these two board members grade could be a few points different. Needless to say, each applicant will get an overall score (combined from each board member’s score), important piece here are ties that are right on the cut off line. Those packages will be discussed to split the tie, meaning the board will come together and review and determine who makes it. Board members will explain why they scored the package the way did, and eventually come to the conclusion on which applicant should make the cutoff.

just my experience sitting in a few boards. Take it with a grain of salt.

Nah you’re overthinking it…. It’s more like the movie beerfest. Just a giant drinking competition to decide who gets selected or not
