Do you guys think we need to show up with a pubs bag? One of my friends said to bring one but another said not to? I already know to bring a knee board and map strap, but Idk about any other pilot accouterments. Since I'm not coming from a upt base with issued stuff, I'm kinda shooting in the dark here with what to bring that wasn't listed on Doss's arrival guide

Oh, does the tailor shop have to do that too? I figured I could cut it off myself with some scissors. Side note, why even have pencil flaps if they're just gonna get cut off?

You’ll have to take them to alterations to have them sew the velcro on. They typically have velcro in stock, so you just pay for it there. You can buy flags online or at a clothing sale store. I purchased my flags and AETC patches from www.aviatorgear.com, but there are a ton of different places that carry everything you need. One piece of advice, make sure they sew the larger velcro pieces on *both* sides and not just enough velcro for the flag patch (they did this to me and I had to take them back to have it redone).

On the topic of flight suits, my RA just bought mine, and they have no velcro on the sleeves or right side of the chest? Or American flags? Am I supposed to buy those at clothing sales along with ranks to sew onto them? Or am I missing something?

This is correct. Follow the reporting instructions on the Doss website, it’s accurate. Only significant change was the removal of the PT test upon arrival. You’ll do PT, but there is no longer an official test on day 1.

Hey do you guys know if we need to bring blues to IFT? I heard from somewhere that we don't get to wear flight suits at first and have to wear blues instead. Is that true, or do we just show up with only flight suits?

They'll send you the LOA about 3 weeks out just like they did for MFS!

I'm headed to Laughlin on 15 Oct! Does anyone know if we have to live in the dorms since we're older and already have furnishings and such? I'm not married so I could handle it I guess.
Also, I know basically nothing about what to bring or where to get that info, for upt, ift, or even mfs. Like are we supposed to wear abus to the physical? Can you guys please help me out with this? Any info is appreciated.

Anyone else still not have your base or pcs date yet? I got ift and mfs, and got my current pcs canceled finally, but nothing else.

Does anyone who's taken it know the structure of the boldface test? Is it like a blank version of the paper they provided us and you have to write every single item, bold or not, or are the terms listed and you just need to put the boldface part?
