Does anyone know if Vermont or Massachusetts are having hiring boards this year? I believe they both did last year, but I was curious if either were going to be back to back?

I was at the most recent board in Vermont and they mentioned they only hire every two years.

So probably not this year, unless things have changed.

It's pretty unfair that some people get interviews and others don't.

Really dude? You're trying to get into an hyper-competitive job, had an actual Air Force pilot write out a detailed game plan of how to approach the situation, and this is your answer?

Frankly, as someone who's competing against you, I'd be pleased if more of the competition had this attitude. I'd get more interview invites, for one.

I know it's difficult. Maybe you're just venting to us, but I don't think this is the place for that.

  3. Currently going through AF Reserve and applying to ANG Units, just seeing which one pops up an opportunity first. Since I have time, I'm giving Fighters a shot, but won't say no to a UPT slot.

Just started applying to a few boards, no bites yet. Gonna try to visit a couple units in 2019 to improve my chances, since to me it seems pretty mandatory to be considered. Maybe I'll run into you while visiting a unit?

  4. Based on my experience thus far in the recruiting process, a lot of Heavy units can't get enough candidates, much less those with credentials like yourself!

My recruiter was telling me a lot of good news on the Reserve side in regards to heavy squadrons, being younger than you and with slightly better scores, so with your extra credentials and flight experience I feel you'd be a shoe in.

You should easily get a slot if you just head down to a few squadrons and meet them, and it should be pretty simple for you to go either ANG or Reserve Sponsored and grab a waiver.

    Good luck!
