  1. If you know someone at Beale right now, contact them for the lowdown or PM me. The manning piece is constantly changing, and this isn't the place to get into details.

Dream Big is pretty spot on with what's up here at the moment. Not sure how long you've been here, but there's definitely a little bit of queep creep. It's not bad, but it could be better.

Thanks for giving me some info. PM sent!

  2. Without getting into details for OPSEC reasons, expect to fly a lot, as in 10 days straight with a day break, rinse and repeat. Some of us are getting extended. Plenty of work to do out here. Squadron queep is kept at a minimum here at Kandyland. Just got a new CC and he is stellar. While the rest of the non flying parts of the base have their heads up their asses our squadron really has its' s*it together.

Thanks for the info! Any word on tour length and dwell at home?

  3. I'd be interested in one of these if we could do some kind of a baseops group buy. Maybe something simple, like basic pilot wings engraved on the back... Anyone else? Looks like we'd need a list of 10-15 names, assuming they still offer this.

    I'd be interested as well

  4. I bought mine off the rack in Pop's. They have just about every size with every form of the mod's on the shelf. You can also have them measure you and get one custom made.

If you know you're going to be passing through Incirlik, definitely wait and go shopping at the store. The prices are better and they can custom make you one in 3 days. If you know you don't have the time, or aren't going to be at LTAG anytime soon, order from the website...they have excellent customer service.

  5. Anybody know why we brought the fallen Afghan troops back to the States?

They were unable to identify each individual troop, so they brought them all back. Dover will do the identification and then the Afghan troops will be taken back to Afghanistan for burial.

I flew one of the C-17s back to Dover, and it was the hardest mission I have ever done. To our comrades in arms!

  6. ...did he just fail the Ad Brief and thus exceed his limit of busts (I don't remember how the OI read exactly), or were there other issues that led to his attempted removal?

As I remember he washed back to my upper class, and thats where he failed the advocacy brief. If I remember correctly, once you got washed back, one failure could be grounds for your dismissal, so when he failed, that triggered the evaluation that led to the decision to remove him from training. He hung around in limbo for a while after the decision was made (a couple weeks) and was finally put into my class. His story was that he fought the dismissal on the grounds that the grading for the advocacy briefing was subjective and after he gave the same brief to another evaluator, they decided to pass him.

  7. The -17 world sucks right now, especially @ TCM. Not only are we doing 15 days at a time, but we go and spend 4 or 5 of that rotting at the CHS stage. At first it wasn't too bad, but after awhile you get sick of the place and all the shenanigans they pull.

    2.

Just spent a week sitting there while mission after mission cancelled and the CHS guys took all the good lines....
