  1. I know that 6k -10k sounds like a lot and it undoubtedly is for a college kid, I was there. If you are serious though about going through with the ANG and accept nothing less than a pilot slot don't worry about the cost, take out more loans *dreaded* but if thats what it takes. Get it done and bite the bullet no matter what or how you have to do it. Last I saw something like 125k for training on the outside to get you where you'll be after UPT.

  2. I have been around the guard going on 7-8 years. Your scores qualify you for UPT that's no problem. At this point since you want a guard slot, are you a good fit for the unit and is the unit a good fit for you is the limfac. Like I said, if you take it again and bust one of those scores there goes your shot. FWIW.

Do they take your preferences for which base into account? I mean what would a "legit reason" to prefer a particular base be? Family nearby? Or what?

Depends highly on your training office. I told them what my preference was and got it but like anything else, they will take into account what you want and then put you where they need you to be.

Yeah, that's why hotels and car rentals places get sued all the time for not renting to those under 21. Wait a minute...

Pretty indifferent but their case is going to be it's not a constitutional right that you can drive a car or rent a hotel.
