I do not believe this is accurate at all.  As long as you have a valid flight physical on file with the HARM, they control the strings with flight pay and you should ALWAYS get your flight pay (assuming you met gates, etc. - the same gates game you played in active duty).  Over the past decade in the Reserves, I have never heard of conditional flight pay, getting paid only when you fly, or any of that.  I am well into my second year of not flying and still get ACIP - on IDTs, UTAs, AT, MPA, RPA, and every other status under the sun.

The prorated part is correct, of course.  So for each IDT period and for each AT day, you should get 1/30th of your ACIP monthly pay commensurate with your years in flying status.

And he is correct in telling you to work with the HARM - they should get it turned back on.  It would help if you had your current and previous 1042 or 2992 medical forms, or whatever they call it today.  While you are at it, you may as well go in fully armed (could not resist the pun) when you meet with the ARM guys, so I would read AFI 11-401, especially Chapter 2 where it talks about Aviation Specialty Codes to at least be familiar with the terms and see if there are some hidden gremlins in there that might be what got your flight pay turned off.  That reg is what they are going to quote as their bible in the HARM office.

Good luck, and let us know how it goes.

I'll need to refresh myself on the regs, I don't work with reservists that often. So forgive me for misinformation. Regardless the HARM is where he needs to start.

  2. As a 1C, I can help with this question.

You will need to talk to yours HARM office. They're the ones who track your flight pay. As far as you being a reservist, you're on "conditional" flight pay. That means you get paid for how much you fly. Generally you have to fly 4 hours a month to get paid. If you fly more, it'll roll over to the next month or apply backwards if you didn't get it previously. It won't matter about your AT weekend. However, if you're on active orders then you should be prorated as a result. Finance will not know the answer to your question. It's trucked by your HARM office who pushes the info to them. It should be easy to find since your info will be in your FRF.

So what's the point of having a board if an applicant is sponsored? I understand if their are unsponsored applicants. It would be so upsetting to be sponsored and then turned down for some reason. I have a bad GPA but that's it

Welcome to the Air Force. My guess is becsuse the reserves is a federal entity and they want to sign off on any applicant that a unit chooses, since it's them who pays for an applicant to go to training. Like I said, waivers are sent to the board and there are multiple layers to the application process. It may not make sense, but you'll understand that's how the Air Force works.

  4. Thanks again. Haha. I called the Active duty recruiter and he is calling me back shortly.

I tried to get in contact with a reserve recruiter via the 1-800 number and get stonewalled by the people there. They tell me I'm already in and they don't deal with current members and to contact my MPF about career changes/progression and UPT Board.

I really think it's my MPF I should be dealing with, but they seem lost. So I'm not really sure what to do at this point? Maybe contact another bases MPF? But I'm sure they won't want to work with someone out of their unit.

I am in the same situation as you, I'm active duty as well. There is an AFRC recruiter at your base. Mine is located at the MPF Office. However, he got me in contact with an Accesions recruiter who is at another base. Typically recruiters deal with 3 or 4 bases, not just one. It just depends on your base, but definetly try there. There is no use going to an outside recruiter, they'll just refer you to the on base one because you're already in (Believe me I've tried). It took my a while to get into contact with her but she was the person that I needed to talk to. She is sending me documents that I need to fill out, but she confirmed to me they are indeed sending people unsponsored. She also said there may be a board as early as September and there is one scheduled in November.

  5. Can anyone provide me with someone to contact for these unsponsored AFRC boards please?

I contacted my FSS and they have no idea what I'm talking about, and referred me to an active duty recruiter. Is that true? I even sent the FSS the link to this article. http://www.446aw.afrc.af.mil/news/story.asp?id=123443560, which seems to be a FSS helping the member work through the process.

They also referred me to the Ops group to obtain a UPT slot. I'm waiting to hear back from the Ops group to see if they know who to contact for the unsponsored.

I tried going through a recruiter and, being as though I am still a TR, they pretty much didnt want anything to do with me.

Edit: I made it a little easier to understand, was in a rush a few minutes ago.

You will need to talk to an officer accessions recruiter that is in your area. You'll talk to them and they will get the ball rolling for you. I am currently in the process as well.
