  1. I am putting together a custom order with Bremont for the HC-130. If you are interested let me know. We only need a few more orders to make it happen. I would like to have everything finalized by the end of June.

  2. We had people still doing syllabus events (flights) up until the day before the winging. One dude almost didn't make it to the soft winging ceremony because he was flying that day.

The syllabus has changed a little to avoid this. They moved the flight line up to give them more flexibility in case weather or maintenance issues get in the way. Now there are more academics after, which they can cram in if needed. Typically, the most you would have grad week is a test. The graduation events themselves are the same.

  3. ^What he said. I was a prior 1A2(loadmaster) and I am now a CSO. To dissect it a little further, you need to figure out exactly what you want to do. 1A9 will do flight engineer/loadmaste/gunner on spec ops platforms. A CSO can be a weapons officer and drop bombs, an electronic warfare officer, a navigator, or a blend of them all. On some platforms the CSO and 1A9 share some of the responsibilities.

  4. I went through in 2013 as a CSO. You get a few flights out to an area to work on stalls, forced landings, slow flight, etc. On these flights you fly the entire time unless the pilot is showing you something. After that, every flight allows around 30min in an area and a low level route. The low levels were off of a TPC and flown around 1000 AGL. The charts are pre built and based on a set ground speed. The CSO has to adjust airspeed and heading to achieve the proper course and groundspeed to arrive at the target +/- 1min. As stated, the pilot will fly the route and the CSO directs. If you have any specific questions I'll be happy to help.

  5. With respect, my attitude is one of knowing what I want to do with my career. I'm not familiar with the Talon community which is why I asked the question. I don't do anything half-ass in regards to my career, but your input does help me make a better decision moving forward, and for that I thank you.
