  1. I hope she doesn't make you cry during the interview like she did to Oprah; or your career then takes the path of the two F-22 whistleblowers.

Ha! My career is nominally important to me, the fact that doing my primary duty well (flying and teaching others to fly) is second to volunteering to head up a change of command in a rack and stack already determined that... Although making a media storm is tempting, ruining a bunch of active duty folks' morale and welfare just isn't catchy enough in today's media...

I submitted an IG complaint against AFPC last year. Don't expect much.

First I spoke with my base IG and he thought there were clearly problems with the way AFPC was manipulating my records. He had to refer my complaint to AFPC's IG. I was in his office when called his counterpart at AFPC's IG and told her how important it was for them to discuss the case with me after they received my complaint form. My local IG assured me AFPC's IG would call me within 48 hours.

A week passed without them calling me. I called them and they said they would be in touch. Three weeks passed without them calling me, and I called them again. They said they were done investigating my case and had found my complaint had no merit.

I could have referred the complaint to HHQ but instead I applied for voluntary separation the first chance I got.

I recognize the fultility of the IG complaint system, the problem with big blue is there is no accountability for AFPC, but we have flushed that out here already. My words carry little weight, but they have elevated my case to the office of primary responsibility... a reasonable, thought out answer would be helpful, so I doubt I will ever hear anything.

  2. How do you know none of the 11Bs that applied were approved? Have you gone to every person that applied and asked what their status is? And what do you think threatening an IG complaint is going to do, make them approve people? Not everyone that was approved is going to post their status on BODN.

You have to realize that just because they weren't approved through the VSP (pay), they could have decided to simply separate. Or for someone that still has an ADSC, they could have found a job through palace chase and that will subtract from the overages as well.

and screw the IG, I'm going straight to Barbara Walters!

I have been in touch with three of the four bases with eligible 11B's who applied, (not counting whiteman) the ball is in their court to prove me wrong or provide some data to the contrary, I dont have every data point but enough to make an educated guess..

  4. Good question. Who wants to go through 6 more months of getting jerked around if they aren't going to cut any more? However, the SECAF's recent words allude to more cuts than what we are seeing right now.

We had discussion a while back about the limited funds available for Force Shaping this fiscal year. The budget is much larger next year. I'm not sure we can rely on AFPC to update the matrices in time for the next VSP window so I have no idea what to do. The uncertainty over the past few months almost made my wife kill me.

I would also like to know if I am still eligible for FY14 palace chase since the email said I am no longer eligible for FY14 voluntary programs.

I sent the following to the TFSC today, it is listed as "elevated" now. not sure the source data is 100% correct, but looks like no more 11B's were selected regardless of the matrix numbers.

"How is it that zero 11B's are getting approved for separation on this final round? Your matrix had multiple 11B's in several different year groups still remaining, how can you say you met your quota without approving anyone?? Are you looking for IG complaints? is there an appeal process for VSP disapprovals??"

  5. I'm happy for everybody in my year group that gotten approved so far because that lessens my chance of getting RIF'ed in the fall. Keep the good news coming!

Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!

And higher promotion chances too, right?? :salut: <sarcasm> ... all I know is I don't want to be one of the poor saps picking up the peices after this mass exodus. I am on leave this week but I can't seem to stop checking vMPF every half hour or so, just trying to make room for the true blues :airman:.

  6. I called them. After being on hold for 30 min, Patty said, "Your application is still being processed, maybe they will get to it tomorrow."

    So I still have hope.

    Good to hear...

by way of intro: 2003, zoomie, 11B, late rate with 4yr UPT ADSC. been lurking here since december (cant post from .mil) finally applied in April, got disapproved for verbiage then reapplied on the last possible day. regardless of the outcome I want to thank all the contributors here for all the good gouge thus far. RIF matrix only had two in my year group/AFSC, so i figured I had a snowball's chance in a very hot place, but crossing my fingers nonetheless

  7. FWIW...

    CAO: Today

    Message from AFPC regarding VSP:

"AFPC completed adjudication of all remaining Voluntary Separation Program applications, conducted one final review against AF requirements, and will start notifying approved members as early as today, Monday, 19 May. The members’ records in MilPDS are being updated and updates to the case management system will be completed no later than the end of next week.

NOTE: AFPC is working with AF/A1P and AF/SG on final AF Medical Service officer approvals which will cause notices to flow separately and a day or two later.

Approvals are based on Airmen most eligible to meet AF quotas in their respective AFSC, rank, or year group. The approvals will flow through a direct email to each member today, followed by notifications to respective commanders and a secondary confirmation to the member; occurring through the end of this week.

Airmen disapproved for VSP will be notified next Tuesday, 27 May. Disapprovals are based on the fact the Air Force ran out of quotas for a specific AFSC, grade and/or year group. The good news is that if an Airman is disapproved based on the Air Force running out of quotas, their respective AFSC, grade or year group will not meet an involuntary board in FY14.

The Air Force was committed to providing approval notifications by mid-May; we made every effort to honor that commitment with due diligence and accuracy. The final 1,000 plus applications necessitated additional review time to properly assess and account for the impact to the Air Force mission."

I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.
