  1. Nothing is updated. The red/blue matrix is the one they released on the 17th of last week (you know, the one they released too late to let folks know they weren't eligible anymore for the new TERA window that opened on the 15th).

Yeah, it was posted on the 17th, but the "Updated as of" is 15 April. The very day TERA window opened.

The screwed up part is TERA originally opened before VSP. I thought for sure I'd get it because my prior E time drove me past 18 years. Others in my year group ('01 11M) wouldn't be eligible without the E time.

    So screwed up!

  2. And us TERA guys get F%CKED again!!!! The waiver matrix says updated 15 Apr. THE VERY DAY TERA OPENED UP!

Not sure if you understand how retirement works, but you have to check eligibility first. I applied first thing on the 15th only to be told it will take 10 business days to determine my eligibility under TERA. If eligible, then you can actually apply.

Now that the matrix went red for my yr group......

Applied on day one for the 1st round of TERA only to be told "no" due to ACP....then they change the rules...AFTER the TERA window closed! Then all the VSP guys get to play under the new rules while we TERA guys get hosed!

I'm so happy for those that got VSP, I just think we TERA guys "took one for the team!"

So disappointed in how the AF played this game.

  3. I am raising the BS flag, lookie rookie. It doesn't add up. Why would your buddy who has that much ADSC left be approved? Someone is yanking his chain.

Also had the scary thought that when congress goes through another round of sequestration, guess where they will be cutting the "fat" from? Your vsp and Tera purse.

The TERA purse is the exact same purse as all military retired personnel. There is absolutely no difference between the early retired and 20 years retired except the % of pay.

  4. I'm happy for all the VSP approved folks, so don't take this the wrong way, but...

When the new ADSC waiver table was posted, they should've paused everything and made everyone that had submitted VSP paperwork fall under the previous waiver criteria. Again, I'm glad people are getting good news. BUT I'm gonna be super pissed if my yr/AFSC goes red because new ADSC waivers are getting approved on the VSP side preventing me from re-applying for TERA under those same new rules.

Totally blows they post new ADSC waiver criteria after TERA closed giving us no options to-reapply while VSPs are getting processed and approved against the new waiver table. Thus, potentially reducing or eliminating our yr/AFSC while us TERA guys sit on the sidelines and watch.

  5. I wish AFPC would release information about the current round of TERA! I called AFPC yesterday and they don't have any idea when they will get any additional info... I almost felt bad for the lady I talked to, she sounded as defeated as I did...

    I hear ya!

I applied 1 minute after the TERA window opened only to find out they denied my app due to ACP. That was very frustrating because the PSDM wasn't clear on that issue. Then they made a "revision" to the guidance after the fact to validate my denial. AWESOME!!!

Now I'm reading on AF Times and the Portal a 2nd round of TERA will be opening soon. The only reason I'm even aware those articles existed is because a buddy of mine mentioned he'd see it on FB.

To this date, nobody in my chain has sent a single shred of info about the new ADSC waiver table or that a new TERA will be available soon.

I hope this isn't a short coming of my wing leadership, I suspect they don't know about it. How is this possible? When is the official 'transparent' notice through official channels forthcoming? As we've seen, people are getting orders, TDY notices, etc., and may or may not know additional options are coming. Why is the AF Times and the Portal the only news about a new round of TERA? Perhaps you guys are getting something...not me.

  6. According to what AFPC released, 15 Apr-3 May. No word on what the retirement date will be set at. Normally it's supposed to be at least 120 days, hence the previous 1 Apr notification deadline for a 1 Aug retirement date. It's maddening that they've only notified 66 officers out of around 600 eligible and they are opening a new round next week. Still, I think TERA is the best deal in the AF right now.

Where is the AFPC release about 15 April found?

I tried to TERA 1 minute after the window opened. Due to my ACP, they said no. I argued via myPERS because the original PSDM wasn't specific and stated any unearned portion of retention bonuses must be recouped. AFPC escalated my case to the GS1000 making the decisions (policy section) and they still said no. The AF was kind enough to update the PSDM a few days later. It's so nice having 18 revisions of the PSDMs during the application window.

Anyways, I'm "now" eligible for round 2 of TERA but myPERS didn't have anything new posted as of 3:30pm EST.

Thanks for any info you can provide.
