This might be a very stupid question (as I hope it is). Would being born premature (7 weeks in my case, no health issues from it) be an issue for an FC1? The only reason I ask is because it's listed as part of my health history on a medical report. Hopefully I'm not about to open up a can of worms.

I rushed the squadron. Interview invitations went out through e-mail on Sunday.

Has anyone gotten interview notifications from the 442FW? If I remember correctly, they were supposed to go out sometime this week.

I'm curious about the 180th in Toledo. Has anyone heard from them? Their website said the board would tentatively held in November and I've never received word one way or another. I tried calling a couple times with no luck so far.

If I read it correctly, someone mentioned that New Jersey is accepting applications for a UPT board (or would be soon). If that's the 177th FW, I called to verify but could not get a definitive answer. Sounds like they've hired quite a few pilots the past couple years. I didn't know if someone else had any more info though.

On a separate subject, I've noticed that a point of contact in the unit isn't always given. Is this something I (we) should always try to get? Or is it the norm to only work with the recruiter whose information is given on the announcement?
Not sure if I said this before, but I feel there is a fine line between being persistent and annoying that I don't really want to cross. At the same time realize to some of these units I may be "some guy off the street" and, of course, I want to change that.

Just to clarify one thing, when you say confirmation that everything is kosher, do you simply mean to see that they received the packet? Or applicants who will be interviewed are generally contacted within two weeks?

Is it standard practice to follow-up with a phone call to a unit after the packet has been submitted? I know this is common practice in the civilian world, no idea about military.
On the same note, is there a general time frame it takes to hear back from a unit if they are going to invite you for an interview? I guess for me the anticipation is the worst part of it.

Searched around and couldn't find a clear answer on this. What's the process like after completing the FC1/MFS? Does it still need to go to the GB for approval? If you leave Dayton with no waivers is it just waiting on signatures or is there still a chance to be DQ'd?
