  1. Even after approval AFPC can't not fuc! Up. First email was approved 29 Sep. Second email was 1 Aug date change request denied. Still 29 Sep, which is what I want now that the approvals were delayed 2.5 months. Today's email says "please disregard system generated emails. Your actual separation is 31 july." WTF! Get it right just once AFPC. Now I have to apply under hardship (terminal starts last week) to get it changed back to 29 Sep.

  2. How do they expect us to separate by 30 Sep with ~90 days or less notice? AFPC needs to get this shit done and notifications sent yesterday. This delay is unacceptable.

30 September I could probably swing. The 1 Aug date I put on my app is going to be difficult with terminal and PTDY. Speaking of family concerns, baby due Sep. Should be interesting. What I expect to see on my denial email:"We regret to inform you that your VSP application was denied because you selected a date too early to allow for you to take terminal leave prior to separation. You should have known better. Please reapply in round two with a date that makes sense you moron."

  3. Has everyone seen the webinar slides posted on myPers dated 8 Apr? Slide 6 is particularly interesting. Says "airmen receive 120 days from notification to separation" as a change. So they're going to change all the approvals to a September separation or they're just bad at math?

This other nugget in particular worries me as an RPA guy. "Adjudicating rated applications by RDTM AND PAS. Need to ensure retention of Airmen with specialized training for critical missions." Sooooo.... Our current assigned unit is now a consideration? Fantastic. 11M with an 18S AFSC should be a red flag then. Just get on with it already.

  4. Nothing in 14-08 specifies Apps with ADSCs will be "adjudicated" after 1 May. It says all remaining. However, we are seeing apps still being processed. So who's to say they are in fact waiting on 11X apps other than the fact that we haven't seen a lot of applications results lately on here?

  5. That's what it seems like to me. I just can't figure why they would eliminate higher numbers from the more experienced guys in their pilot force. You'd think they would want to match the overages they identified to keep from gutting the experience level.

Either way, I hear they are hurting for T-6 IPs and now they may create a shortage in the 11M world. It may mean good news for RPA guys like me trying to make it back into an airplane if VSP doesn't work out. But I'm sure big blue will find a way to crush my dreams.

Hmmm. Alpha tour to white jet tour. That'd really "broaden" my career.

  6. How did you guys know that the '02 year group is +40? Is that published somewhere? Let the public flogging commence if I missed this somewhere... Anyone know the overage for '05?

    -SH

It was on the RIF overage matrix before they took it down in Feb. I can't remember exactly but I think we(05) were around 18%-22% overage out of those eligible (64 overage out of 280ish eligible)?

** All apps that required waiver are being held until application window closes on 1 May. They will then be batch processed. ** - directly from AFPC Separations Branch Chief

So, if you have an ADSC that originally excluded you, you can stop checking CMS 10 times a day and just continue to wait..... Sorry it's not "you're getting approved tomorrow" news, but at least it's something official.

From AFPC's standpoint, this allows them to get through all those with no ADSC remaining and then determine if they need to approve any with waivers. The they will approve the people in each yr group with the least amount....

  8. I think PSDM 13-130 was rescinded on 14 Feb, because I submitted my VSP app on 13 Feb and was pissed when the rules and timeline changed the next day.

I think I'm going to save and print my myPers incident from a Feb phone call that says "PSDM 14-08 does not apply to you if you are eligible for the RIF. VSP provisions in 13-130 apply to RIF eligible officers." Those are the provision I thought I was applying under, which did not refer to 13-65 for ADSC waivers or recoupment of money for ADSCs. If this was a courtroom, they'd be fooked.

  9. i resubmitted one a few weeks ago after the initial UPT ADSC denial in feb just so i'd have one on file in case the waiver came through

Certainly in that case but that is different than pulling an active app IOT resubmit. Lucky for me my CC slow rolled the app trying to game the system and it reached AFPC after that initial denial wave blew over.

  10. "Conduction some civilian training"

    ...good luck on your ATP

Got a question for you all, someone in the office said now that the waiver authority has been delegated to AFPC, you must pull your VSP and resubmit under the new guidelines. Has anyone done this? Had anyone (11M) been approved VSP yet and this is what they did or was your app the original one from back in Feb?

I would very much doubt everyone who's been approved so far put in a new application, had it go through both commanders and approved by AFPC the same day. At most we're talking new SOUs uploaded but then the SOU from 14-08 hasn't changed so what's the point?
