i was stationed in USAFE during the entirety of COVID and sat in on wing and UK level discussion about vaccinated airmen. I can say it was less about having folks vaccinated to prevent illness and more about meeting myriad restrictions on entering various countries. For a while, we only had a few crews who could go  to any country and that was mission impacting.

I say all of that because I would imagine a big part of the CENTCOM rule was so personnel didn’t deploy (assuming the HN even let them in country) and get stuck in mission limiting quarantine because they didn’t meet HN requirements.

CENTCOM MOD 16 mandating the CV19 vaccine was implemented in January 2022.  MOD 15 dated April 2020 had no such requirement.  Dod mandated vaccination for active duty was already in effect by the time MOD 16 came out.  Imo the CENTCOM CV19 vaccine requirement was added in Jan 2022 to further coerce civilian deployers subject to Biden's Executive Order 14042 from Sept 2021 requiring all Federal workers to get vaccinated.

Lots of good info here regarding the current status of the E.O. as it pertains to federal workers.

I was.  It was either get the shot or go unemployed.

I opted for unemployment.  Like all active duty, as a civilian DoD Contractor I was subject to meeting all CENTCOM Medical requirements in order to deploy OCONUS.  The latest version of those requirements, MOD 16, mandated the CV19 vaccine.  Every single one of my former co-workers who got covid, whether they got it while they were in the US, or got it while deployed....were "vaccinated".   Every.  Single.  One.

Somebody probably said this on here already, but why the hell are the Washington elite (from both parties) so worried about Ukraine's borders but don't give a rat's ass about our southern border?

"The honest answer would be…  We, in the Biden and Obama administration, are doing all this stuff in Ukraine, for Ukraine and under the auspices of protecting Ukraine, because a whole bunch of us from both political parties in/around the DC beltway – along with our families – receive massive amounts of personal financial wealth from the DC money laundering operation of foreign aid money in/around Ukraine."

  4. I thought 50% to the spouse was pretty much the standard after 10 years of marriage...is this not the case?

nope. most states use the hunt formula for computing division of retired military pay.

the significance of being married for 10 or more years is that the ex can apply for DIRECT PAYMENTS of your military retired pay from DFAS. so in essence you wont even see her awarded portion of that money, it will automatically be sent to her bank acct on the 1st of each month.

  5. You got off (STS) cheap. I know several dudes that lost 50%. One guy was so bitter at the bitch that he bailed at 19.5 years just so she couldn't get a dime. Gotta be really pissed off to do that one seeing how you're really hurting yourself at the same time. Wow.

yeh i got off cheap i guess, our marriage overlapped 12 yrs out of my 20 yrs TIS-- thats why she only got 27%-- and thats why i didnt stay past 20. what alot of guys who get divorced while on active duty but who stay in and eventually retire don't know is that if the ex is awarded a % of your military retirement as community property in the divorce decree, the ex won't get her % of your retirement pay based off the rank you were when you got divorced-- her % of your retirement pay will be based of the rank at which you retire in.

the ex can also remarry another another military member, divorce them, and be awarded a portion of their retirement and end up collecting from 2 retirements. awesome huh?

  6. Sandra Bullock smuggles sausage for Christmas

Oscar-winning actress Sandra Bullock has admitted to smuggling delectable sausage from Germany into the United States for Christmastime.

    http://www.thelocal....1221-39643.html

My favorite quote: "...she declined to explain how she smuggles the sausage – whether through the mail on her person." Perhaps another way could be deduced?

I can't tell if the Germans are amused by this or offended...

"she has a need for a very specific type of meat for her Christmastime spread."

  7. Anyone have the reg for this? Seems pretty dumb. Also the news article seems to confuse "anywhere on the right arm" and "visible in uniform." If there was a prohibition of tattoos anywhere on the saluting arm there would be a ton of people DQ'd. Losing 15 recruits a week...that seems sensible...

i asked about this today to an recent ex-recruiter bro of mine and he made a call and was able to get a hold of this memo sent out referencing tattoos. :nob:

Note the diamonds on their rank. This is a picture circa Sept, 2009, of the "Desert Diamonds." The thing that strikes me the most about the picture is that most of them could probably care less about the flag hanging at half-staff in the background as compared to busting people's chops about reflective belts and sunglasses on the head.

oh i'm sure some of them bitched about that one guy wearing sunglasses in formation after the pic was taken.

  9. Well, when was the last time you went to an organized PT event? Mine was about two years ago, at EWO school.

    Once a month in Clovistan

the last time i wore PT gear period was when i came back from al dhafra in sept of 2008.

i went there in 2007, tucking NOT mandatory, went once again in 2008, tucking NOW mandatory, did not go this year, but i know they have added saluting recognizable officers while in PT gear into the base supp-----shit gets more :rainbow: year by year

  10. Thanks Blue, as usual you've taken something decent and increased the suck factor dramatically.

Congrats to the Shoes on this one. Now they can move on to standardizing ABU sleeve roll by calendar date and other worthy activities.

thats just great. then theres this little gem:

    A. COMMANDERS DETERMINE THE REQUIRED PTU/IPTU CONFIGURATION DURING ORGANIZED PT EVENTS.

now at 'organized' pt, EVERYONE will have to be in the same F'ing uniform configuration.

  11. Just make them pen patches so the flyers can wear them as non-approved morale patches. You know, come to think of it, I might have to get with someone on this. Start selling the pen patches that have "IHRB". Kinda like the "LPA" pen patch. But what the big question is, what color? Do you go subdued, so it doesn't look like it's there, or do you try and make it just like a neon yellow RB?

If only there was someway to make the letters out of reflective material.

Deid Shoeclerk "You're going to have to take off the unauthorized morale patch!"

Me "Why, it's apart of my 360 of reflectivity."

i just cut a small piece off my belt and hand wrote "IHRB" in permanent marker--now to get one of the local patch shops to sew velcro on it

  12. Toro, I never thought I'd see that group here. I created that group on FB. Please send as many invites as possible. I'm out of people that I can think of that are AF related to add to the group. It started out as about 10 people. I'm hoping to hit the 1,000 mark before the end of the year now. :salut::salut::salut: To all you who join.

i joined months ago and uploaded the "someone must have talked" pic to the group, which ironically i got from baseops.

  13. whats worse is that this is the SECOND story the af times has done on this :rainbow:

    http://www.airforcetimes.com/news/2007/12/airforce_tinydancer_071217/

First Lt. John Scheuren is not ashamed of his call sign, “Tiny Dancer.” After all, when you go from your first dance lesson to second-best in the world in 15 months, you command respect, even in rhinestones. :rainbow::vomit:

It started when some “Dancing with the Stars” pros put on a charity show near Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., where Scheuren works as a statistician for the 28th Test and Evaluation Squadron. After the show, Scheuren got a flier for a free dance lesson at a nearby studio and took advantage of the opportunity.

He picked up moves quickly and about two months in, he said, his instructor recognized his talent.

“It’s kind of rare to have a 25-year-old guy student,” Scheuren said. “Usually people have been dancing for 10 years by [then].”

His instructor, Georgia Ambarian, would become his partner, and was already a world champion in the cabaret format, which involves lifts and throws. When the pair won a national competition in May, Ambarian told Scheuren he had a chance to take the world title, so she amped up his routine.

“It’s absolutely brutal,” Scheuren said. “It’s two hours of pain. She makes me lift her over my head for two hours straight.”

In addition to his Air Force fitness routine, Scheuren puts in one to two hours a day in the dance studio, and four hours a day leading up to competitions.

At the world championships in Ohio in November, Scheuren placed second overall in cabaret, missing first by two marks.
