  1. No, it didn't change. I've actually had combat bullets (weapons dropped, lives saved, enemy killed) taken off my OPR because "they aren't competitive". Replaced with things like "Air Force Assistance Fund" and "tour guide for local civic group".

Honest question: shouldn't things like weapons dropped, lives saved, enemy killed show up in some sort of deployment medal citation (Air Medal, etc.)? If it does, it would make sense to document other AFAF type stuff on OPRs since it won't show up elsewhere if promotion is the concern.

  2. I was wondering the same thing. Here in Pcola due to the delays in standing up the CSO school house we've had people on casual for a full year before starting class. Almost everyone in my current class will be 1st Lt's by the time we're winged and that will be the case for several more classes that haven't even started yet. Add on all the additional training and it's possible a decent number will be very close to Capt before being MR.

There are a lot of WSOs in your situation. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

  3. The text of the article is misleading. If you watch the video of the news clip on the link they say that he had taken a date back to the RT camp to "show her where he worked." The written article makes it sound like it happened during RT.

Raises the question of what kind of dude takes a chick to RT on a date.

  4. ok so what happens if an active duty pilot marries a national guard pilot and they don't live at the same location? Does one person get the "w/ dependent" extra pay? I'm just curious how that works.

I'm active Air Force married to an Army reservist. We normally get just the regular 'with dependent' BAH from me. When she's on active duty orders we both get 'without dependent' BAH. But I suppose the guard could be a different ball of wax.
