  1. Everything about Accessible is true above. The pass rate is very high but dont think for a second no one hooks. I was there last month and in my 1.5 weeks trying to get the ATP done i personally witnessed two checkride busts and one written bust that was using his written prep. Overall, its a good deal but just be prepared to take the initiative and dont expect to be spoon fed. Checkpilot is fair and gives most the benefit but due to some jacka$$ telling the faa that he shouldnt have passed a checkride from said checkpilot, he has no choice but to call it like he sees it. He shows you the letter from the faa, so he's not making it up.

Btw, one of the busts was a former Thunderbird #1. Although he hadnt flown in like 6-9 years.

  2. Searched here and online but haven't come up with anything concrete. I am pcs'ing to Hickam this fall. What are the best public elementry and middle schools? Affordable private? Best family neighborhoods? Obviously within a reasonable commute. Not really wanting to stay on base. Sorry if this should be in the Squadron Bar area, feel free to move. Thanks.

  3. GuardGuy.... I've read/re-read your post (thanks, BTW).

Maybe it's because it's 0200L and my brain is fried, but I am still not seeing a direct answer.

If I take my ATP written prior to 31 Jul 14, when is the latest I can take the practical, assuming I stay current in the C-130?

    61.155

    (d) An applicant who successfully completes the knowledge test for an airline transport pilot certificate prior to August 1, 2014, must successfully complete the practical test within 24 months from the month in which the knowledge test was successfully completed. An applicant who passes the knowledge test prior to August 1, 2014, but fails to successfully complete the practical test within 24 months must complete the airline transport pilot certification training program specified in ยง61.156 and retake the knowledge test prior to applying for the practical test.

  4. I searched and couldn't find anything concrete. Do to reduced budgets, sequestration, etc our squadron is now mandating that students double up in lodging while on X/C's to the max extent possible. Is it legal to force them to do this or not? This is AETC JSUPT environment by the way.

  5. I'll be there Aug-Dec as well. There is a company, Corporate Apartment Network, that can get you furnished apartments for under your per diem. Everything is included, ie electric, cable, internet, etc. In addition to normal furniture it has dinnerware, microwave, coffee maker etc. Also, you get maid service once a week. They also take the GOV CC, which most of the PIT pads can't. You only pay them and don't have to deal with anybody else. You can just google it and look at their site to get all the info you need. You sign as lease for as long as your gonna be there (no six months). I made them make my lease for two weeks shorter than the expected grad date, just in case I finish early and don't want any problems. The only thing about that is if they have someone ready to move in when your lease is up, then you have to move out. Otherwise, you can still stay there on a day to day basis. I would rather move to a hotel for the last couple of weeks, rather than pay for two weeks out of pocket if it comes down to that. I don't expect them to have someone waiting to move in, though, due to Christmas at that time. If you call them, I used a lady by the name of Hope and she seemed really nice.
