  1. Hey dudes,
If you PC package has been sitting at SAF level for at least the last month, I would recommend you take action to check the status. I would call the TFSC and make them put you on the phone with someone at AFPC/Palace Chase. Someone there should be able to look up the status of your package. Mine was at SAF for a little over a month and I was able to find out it was approved this way.

The problem (as I see it) is that there is a huge comm breakdown between SAF and AFPC. The board will have made their decision, and you will continue to wait for as much as several months until the extremely broken process is completed. This wait time is BS.

The folks I have spoken with at AFPC/ Palace Chase are actually really helpful. They don't seem to try to hide anything or play games. I'm convinced the process is broken and that is what is causing huge delays.

My buddy had been waiting with his package at SAF for over 2.5 months and he was also able to find out yesterday.

Finally, that being said this method does not count as your official notification. I'm probably still going to have to wait for who knows how long to get the email from AFPC. But at least now I know that it's approved and can make plans. Last time I applied I found out this way and waited nearly 2 more months for official notification.

    Cheers

  2. Where does it say 1st endorsement is wg/cc on the 1288? My sq/cc signed mine (per direction from the recruiter) and my paperwork now sits at SAF, so obviously sq/cc is acceptable. The other 4 guys I know in the recent past also went the sq/cc direction. Maybe it doesn't matter.

I hear you. I also had my Sq/CC sign as my first endorsement, but because I didn't want to deal with the WG/CC and also because no one seems to care. I know of many other who didn't get WG/CC. But, if you really want to know:

Look at the PSD guide available on MyPers. That is the main guide AFPC and everyone uses for reference. The actual regulation is AFI 36-3205. Look at para 1.4.6

I also have a presentation AFPC gave over DCO a few months ago if anyone missed it and is interested. PM me for more details.

I'm not a reg nazi or anything, but I like to be informed so I know how to properly make the rules work in my favor.

  3. The 1st endorsement for officers should be the wing CC.

That is correct. BUT I will tell you that I know many O's who only get Sq/CC for the first Endorsement and have no issues. The PSD guide from Jan 2016 has the references for the source docs. PM me if you need more info.

If you choose to get your WG/CC as the first endorsement, plan an extra few weeks to get the paperwork processed.

  4. How long was yours at AFPC? Mine got there about a week ago; haven't checked the status since last mon. Hopefully yours is only slightly delayed due to all the changes going on in Washington, not because of policy change.

Mine has been at AFPC since 13 Jan. It's bounced around a few offices, and got sent to the wrong core functional. I had to have my SqCC contact the C-17 functional to ask that he "get" my package in CMS. If you have someone in your sq that has CMS access, I highly recommend you have them check. Just looking at your application in vMPF won't tell you much, and won't show every time it moves.

That being said, so far everyone has "non-recommend" my app because 8 month early is apparently too much to ask for.

I was PC approved last week. I am an 11M C-130J guy that is at AETC right now. I was asking for exactly one year of ADSC (initial UPT 10 years commitment). I did have a reserve unit intent to hire which the functionals said really helps. Both Wg/CC & AFPC recommended approval based on the manning in J Model AC's and AETC.  My app took almost 2 months at AFPC but only 4 weeks at SAF/PC.

    Congrats my friend!

Did your Sq/WG recommend approve or disapprove? That's good to hear about them easing the policy on auto-disapprove anything outside a year. My OG called AFPC about a month ago and they told him they aren't seeing much of anything get approved outside of 12 months parole.

    Disapprove from both.

  7. Hey guys  haven't been on here in a while.  Wanted to pass some info and see if anyone has had any luck lately.

PC DENIED on 28 Jun 2016

Requested DOS: 1 Nov 2016 (18 months ADSC UPT remain) I also had some GI Bill transfer ADSC left, and a WIC ADSC (6months or so).

My package sat at SAF/PC right at 8 weeks.

Recommend Disapproval from Sq & WG CC, as well as C-17 Functional

I had a position number (Reserves) with an MFR from gaining Reserve OG/CC included in the submission.

    AFSC: 11M (C-17)

I plan on submitting again right at 120 days, this time requesting 11 months worth of ADSC.  Hopefully it gets approved this time.

I spoke with the C-17 Functional a week or 2 ago, and they recently change the "policy."  He now has permission to recommend approval as long as you meet the 2/3 requirement.  I guess that doesn't mean that he always will, but it is no longer only if you have less than 1 year remaining.  He did say that this was just his office, not SAF/PC.  I don't know if it is the same for all the other functionals.  Sounds like this stuff changes fairly regularly.

Also not confirmed but I get the impression a lot of people get denied once before they get approved.  Seems like the second time makes a difference, but that could just unrelated.

  8. Does anyone at the Deid know why the 17th sucks and needs to be rescued by McChord? Seems the 17th can't do their damn job and needs a few crews from McChord to bail them out. Guess they do not have enough reflective belt monitors.

It prob has something to do with the fact that they are getting ready to head home. The 17th had to go "rescue" your boys in Turkey 2 months ago when they were doing the same thing. But, we have also head rumors of TACC sending more crews to "Augment" the EAS's due to the expected "Surge" of troops into OEF.

    Hope you like Chopped Chicken..
