Any advice on the Palace Chase memo that we are supposed to submit with our application? Curious to hear what guys are putting on that memo- especially from the guys recently approved for PC? I have one memo written that is pretty quick and to the point while the other version goes into a rant better suited to BODN. Thoughts?

My memo was cost savings specific--direct and to the point. I also had MFR's from my losing CC and gaining CC.

Assuming the RIF board meets in Oct, and if (a big IF) the timelines remain consistent with the artist formerly known as PSDM 13-130, then it looks like the pink slips from the RIF boards will arrive just in time for X-mas to go with a DOS sometime in Apr. I'll take a Pepsi challenge that the pink slip notifications get pushed back to Jan with a DOS NLT May because the board results will get delayed.
anyone reached out to the sport books in vegas; could you imagine the O/U potential in this debacle...amazing!

'04 11M Maj(s) approved today! Had the PC app in since mid Dec, no uif, etc. i had to pester everyone to get this thing rolling at an acceptable pace. Asked for 16mo off commitment. Functional disapproved, SAF approved...win! GL to everyone!

Thanks, FF. looks like they just opened up the 1:1 PC for our year group, '04. You think we'll qualify after-the-fact, since we both applied under traditional PC? Also, how long was your app up at SAF/PC before getting an answer? Thanks a million.
I was NOT considered for the 1:1; got the full 6 years and plan on flying fatties for a longer time than I would have on AD. IMHO, you won't qualify if you submitted in '13.
SAF/PC didn't waste anytime with my application---2 months, 5 days to be exact from the day it arrived until I got final word.
Do yourself a favor, here's a couple of nuggets I've come across because my timeline has been compressed from notification to DOS of about 30 days--there are a couple of items that will cause serious delays:
1. harass your ISR about 'Scrolling' and get it completed
2. TAP now has a 'Capstone' Class that must be completed (as of 1 October 13, if you completed TAP before that date you are G2G; someone correct me if I'm wrong about the date)
3. Contact MTF and get on their 'radar' WRT sep PHA's, etc.----will need orders, but if you can prove that you've been approved for separation they should[italics] work with you.
4. Close any lose ends WRT your records; think PRF (your only as good as your DD214)
5. Your orders will NOT be cut if you haven't completed TAP & capstone class, DD214, and Pre-Sep Order worksheet
6. Out-processing is a PCS on steroids; getting out of BIG BLUE requires a F#ck-ton of paperwork and multiple stops to base entities you didn't know existed [sarcasm]...plan accordingly.

how much adsc did you have left? congrats, you're giving hope to all of us.
Initial ADSC expired / 4yrs, 5 mos (UPT) --- late rated 11M and passed over; it wasn't IF I was getting out (see FM14) more along the lines of WHEN---it's been said many times: 'timing is everything'.

Approved, '04 11M. Applied months ago under the standard PC, not any expanded force shaping measure. Believe in your dreams.
Edit: An RCH under 2 years waived for UPT ADSC.
Congrats! I applied months ago too (Sept '13) and still haven't heard----is that about the same time you submitted?

had a guy at my last base that has 3 years left on his UPT ADSC...and WG/CC told him to reapply......
will be interesting to see what happens. I have 5 years on my ADSC left so my only real option is the VSP
Don't sell yourself short, take a look at page 1-3 and see the crazy shit that took place back in 06/07--There's nothing that says you can't apply for PALACE CHASE; trust me---the worst that can happen is SAF says no. Cheers and GL!

Still no word from SAF and/or AFPC wrt to my application...fail
Not as if there are enough rumors, 'what if's', etc with the debacle known as FM14...
After talking to my ISR today he's under the impression that a blue box (sts) on the matrix and justification that reads "FY14 Force Reduction Palace Chase" on your application--you're about 99% certain to be approved. Is anyone in the current process of applying being told this as well?
Edit: my ISR is committing one of the 7 deadly sins of the AF; using 'common sense'!

finally got a response from the PC office at AFPC; if you have an app at the SAF level expect results by the end of the week or at least that's what I was told as of this morning...will keep you posted. Good Luck!

I am ready to apply but would rather wait a month or two longer than have to deal with a rejection and reapplication of PC. I'm basing most of my decisions based on trends that I have seen first hand or read here on BODN.
FYI, after talking with my ISR, AFPC is 'swamped' with PC applications due to the Govt shutdown back in October. I would suggest to go ahead and throw the cards on the table because the 6-8 week turn time is not a reality, although clearly defined in the reg. Coupled with the FM14 options, AFPC's current situation of being backlogged will only get worse IMHO.
just to give you a timeline: my PC app arrived at AFPC on 23 September, and I still do not have an official result from SAF/PC...

My application has ran it's course at AFPC; however, it has been sitting w/the DPSOR folks for the last month, next stop SAF/PC---anyone else who is actively in the process running into the same issues?! Please advise....

No BS---my first application back in April took exactly 7 weeks from Wg/CC signature to disapproval. My 2nd app has been at DPSOR for more than 2 weeks now, previous app 1 week. Due to the 'shutdown' common sense says it will take longer to process applications...just my .02! Cheers and GL

Any word/rumors with regards to PC in the 11M realm? I've seen all the AFPC force mgt initiatives, none of which 11M's qualify--just wanting to know what non-reg BS AFPC is operating under currently (i.e., 1 yr or less on ADSC, etc.). My specs haven't really changed since round 1 except for LOR's from losing/gaining CCs. Thanks in advance...

Kdwntwn---4 and some change, not exactly the 2/3 needed but my 'initial' ADSC expired years ago...as for the process, I submitted via vMPF on 3 April and it arrived at SAF/PC on 5 May....final decision/email 20 May; pretty much by the reg '6-8 weeks'!

Regrettably, your PALACE CHASE application was disapproved by SAF/PC for the best interest of the Air Force. (20 May 2013)
