For those looking for some good U-2 history: https://dragonladyhistory.com/
Chris knows more about the entire U-2 history than probably anyone on the planet. I met him 30 years ago when he was snooping around the U-2 squadron in England, back when I was the Bar Officer.
Chris also has a great blog for U-2 news: https://dragonladytoday.com/forum-3/

For more than 16 years Lt. Col. Alex Castro called the sky home - navigating it on the steel wings of the U-2 "Dragon Lady." Now, as he coaxed the single engine reconnaissance plane toward RAF Fairford, United Kingdom, the gravity of situation hit him.
June 10, 2015 would be the last time Castro would fly the aircraft.

Confirmed by RAF Lakenheath it was on of their Pavehawk helicopters. No confirmation on the fatalities.

Reported by UK news media...
ITV News understands the military helicopter involved in a crash in Cley, in Norfolk is not British.
The RAF is assisting with the search operation.
The US Air Force does have a base in RAF Lakenheath, Suffolk.
The helicopter could be a Blackhawk, which could have had as many as four people onboard.
The US Air Force base at RAF Lakenheath, Suffolk has told ITV News they will release a press statement within the hour.
Four people are believed to have died following a single helicopter crash in Cley, north Norfolk, police said tonight.

Well, for the Duece, there is no cabin, only the cockpit. Also, I believe the acronym is from the official Air Force/Lockheed project name for improving the U-2'scockpit environment, not a more widely used generic term applying to other aircraft.
I got Cabin from quite a few sites I've read it on, that's all - https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=cr&ei=5CQuUqvGPIPV0QWh7IGQBA#q=Cabin+Altitude+Reduction+Effort
After Googling 'Cockpit Altitude Reduction Effort' too, it seems it's 50/50 on what people use! (I'll take your word on it officially being Cockpit though!)

Yup great videography there!

Although I think the commander got his CARE acronym wrong! (Cabin not cockpit?)

The U.S. Air Force on Sunday said the coalition plane that crashed the day before in southern Afghan, killing four service members, was an MC-12 Liberty aircraft.
The twin-engine turboprop plane provides intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, or direct support to ground forces. It crashed in Zabul province, about 110 miles (177 kilometers) northeast of Kandahar Air Field, the Air Force statement said.
The four Air Force service members, whose bodies were recovered, were deployed to the 361st Expeditionary Reconnaissance Squadron with the 451st Air Expeditionary Wing at Kandahar Air Field, the statement said. The cause of the accident is under investigation, but NATO has said initial reports indicate there was no enemy activity in the area where the plane went down.

That's awesome Spoo, well edited and nice audio choice too! - Shot by GoPro?

The audio from the DoD Live Roundtable that took place yesterday on the 1st RS... http://static.dvidshub.net/media/audio/1303/DOD_100760794.mp3
Some good questions and some 'interesting' ones too!

No. It was mainly for those that had a severe hit, or repeated hits. Too much to discuss on this forum, and too much of it is my opinion. Bottom line: like Spoo said, this "problem" is no more.
Quite a good read on a severe hit here... http://www.airspacem...70000-Feet.html
On another note, this DVD is quite a good watch, one of the lady drivers covers DCS...

Learn something new every day, thanks guys.

This is probably a stupid question but by opening the faceplate this presumably 'spoils' the pre-breathe by introducing nitrogen back into the body?

Nice to see some pilot/aircraft photos come out of Beale. Would be nice to see some 60,000+ photos publicly released at some point!

Haven't seen this book mentioned anywhere...
Ed Macy's book "Apache" is the story of a British Apache pilot deployed to Helmand Province. It's a fascinating read, especially the rescue mission that he and his colleague performs. I'd certainly recommend having a read.

Retired Lt. Col Jonathan Huggins, 1st Reconnaissance Squadron U-2 instructor pilot, performs a preflight inspection before takeoff. It’s been 2,133 days since he last flew the U-2 solo.
“As a civilian instructor pilot in the 1st Recon Squadron, I’m focused on working with the newest U-2 trainees, and getting them proficient at the basics of flying the U-2. I’ve missed it. The fact I’m getting to come work here again, with the people I love to work with, in a jet and a mission I love to be involved with, well, it’s just a dream come true. You realize when you’ve been gone a while just how great the people are, and how satisfying it is to be a part of an organization that gets the job done, and that it’s a job that is so critical and important to the nation.”
