Doesn’t check on my end and I haven’t heard any grumbling from my guys. I will go ask our finance Monday.

I talked to a few reserve guys (all in the same unit) and they made it very clear to me that they believed getting an active duty retirement in the guard or the reserves was a myth. They said the unit and the AF would never allow it. Something about not letting you enter sanctuary; not giving you active orders if it puts you in your last two years prior to 20.
Thoughts? That advice is what has kept me in, but maybe it’s dated now, because this conversation keeps coming up.
Highly depends on the unit. I’m going to walk away with an AD retirement as are many others in my unit. Some through AGR, some through ADOS, some just by troughing on MPA days and deployments. Keep in mind we are all over the 15 year mark. How long will that last? Who knows.

AFPC removed my ADSC for C-17 IP Requal so you should be good. I just cited their own regs and it worked like a charm.
They didn't even try to give me an ADSC for my requal.

Everything you need to know. Personally the $250 is a waste and you don't need a class. The Sheppard air software is more than enough. http://www.sheppardair.com/milcomp.htm

It comes in waves. One month we're fighting to get anything other than a locals, the next we're calling the OG/CC to see if he can IP a local or take a channel.

It is a scary thought and it's good to be back! Luckily our jets still do pretty good but the wear and tear is showing. I've noticed a lot of system failures that "fix" themselves before you can run a checklist and you just get a shoulder shrug from MX because they can only pull the codes but CND.

Escaping that black hole was a great feeling!

Depends on location. As one of those older guys, it's way slower. Not even remotely close to 2008 levels. At least at the single Sq bases. Deployment guys are returning after 75 with about 150-200 hours and timing out isn't a concern at home station. Every once in a while it gets tough to fill everything but it's usually a currency or IP availability issue. Find out which base you're headed to and call them.

The C-17s are running about a month behind on every course right now (and most courses, outside of PIQ, are only 1-2 months). The C-17s lost a third of the FTU cadre to the VSP alone and every time I've come back, guys who were wearing 58th patches last time are now sporting reserve ones. This doesn't include a bunch that are actively trying to make the switch or just get out in general. The airdrop side of the house got his pretty hard as well.
Just finished ACIQ in the -17(requal but no requal class available so I jumped on an ACIQ course). Finished 3 days behind on Friday. 4 month course. I was the exception and like FUZZ said most classes are about a month + behind due to the reasons he stated.

I was an 11M and 11U that was medically DQ'd (trying to come back, very LONG road). Crossed over to Logistics and now owned by Logistics functional. I've been in Logistics for just under a year now.

Oh, the memories.
HA, glad I just sold my house there!

Sadly, this is so true with few exceptions. When I PCS'd out to Cannon, Gen Elton (Col then) was the Wg/CC. Aside from being in Clovis, I was happy to work in a low key base with excellent leadership. He was one of the best I've seen in AFSOC. Not to mention it got me away from the 1SOW and the incredible leadership combo we had down there with Slife taking the reins. What we saw today with that memo regarding 36-6903 uniform policy was par for the course around the 27th nowadays. Who needs morale boosting when you live in Clovis anyhow?
2 on Elton! Glad I left Clovistan when I did.

I still had 3 years left. My Sq/CC told me that even though I'm medically unqualified to fly anymore, AFPC says I'm able to fill other positions. I read that as Staff.

I just heard back from the guard unit I was going to. They want me to reapply again after the 120 day period. Not sure I'll get a different answer though.

You can't even fog a mirror?
A little more complicated than fogging the mirror. Its the meds I have to take that have me permanently DQ'd.
-
HAHAHAHAHAHA, I'm DQ'd from RPA's. Currently in an RPA Sq.
-
Wow, Palace Chase denied. Permanently Dq'd from flying and still denied.

I applied Jan 4th. Mines at SAF as well. It's been there for past week.
-
Overseas gig. One of those right place right time situations. Not a long term job but a perfect for right this moment deal. Still very much up in the air as my application is now at the SAF level and I don't have any definitive dates yet.
-
Thanks Huey for the timeline and flow input. Mine just left DPAOC3 actions and back to DPAOC actions so hopefully that means its on its way to the SAF soon.
-
Gotcha. Thanks. Well hopefully they don't take 12 weeks on mine. That will kill my job offer (training start dates are before that and not adjustable).
-
I Palace Chased last year and was told 6-8 weeks....mine took 12.
As for TMO, I was told I could move anywhere I wanted to, as long as the distance was equal/less than the distance from my last base to my HOR...any distance greater would be paid out of pocket.
The biggest problem I've see that screws with people is not getting scrolled prior to their separation date arriving.
Cheers,
Cap-10
Maybe I'm reading this wrong but what is scrolled prior to separation date?
