  1. Pretty sure there are fatty's on both sides of the fence......actually I distinctly remember a pilot candidate in my flight (but lets face it, EVERYONE at ASBC was a potentical shoe clerk because nobody had gone to UPT yet) who couldn't pass the PT test. They had to have him run it 3 times (this was before the auto-fail that we have now) just to get him to BARELY pass with a 76.....there was another pilot candidate who failed not one, but BOTH of the written tests......how you manage that, one will never know.....both were ring knockers too...

I still stand by my original thoughts on Icarus...lol

ugh....now I need to get back to making my eyes bleed again by choking thru SOS via coorespondence.....

I am with you on the eye bleed technique. Passed my first test yesterday & still have two more modules to go. I'd rather pass kidney stones than read this AU Frequent Manhood garbage...but of course, need to check that box....

  2. In my experience hardly anyone in the Guard does SOS in residence, unless they are a guard bum and need the two months of pay. In the Guard it's just checking a box.

good, being a reservist, I have a hard time believing my day job would be cool with me spending 8 weeks playing flickerball in Alabama....

  3. Guess you missed the line in there that said, "all other things being equal." That said right now perhaps too much emphasis is being placed on masters degree, and I think that is the point you are trying to make.

anyone else ever have a problem with this statement? To me, it states you have two marginal people to choose from, so let's pick the less marginal one for promotion....I do agree about the master's degree portion. Why they unmasked it for Maj is beyond me....

  4. Similar situation I went through 9 years ago when I initially separated from AD. Was working a deal to basically do my military job as a GS slug & of course, it took awhile.

If you see something you like, apply. As you mentioned, it always takes a long while for the government to get off its collective ass, so you have nothing to lose. If you get the job, you can always work something out so the two don't conflict.
