  1. I walked into the BTZ board having to compete against two other SrA who were females. You were graded on your answers and BTZ package. One of the SrA was in my squadron and we both were on day shift together. We didn't know the other SrA. I walked out of the board knowing I was going to get my stripe. My supervisors "bred" (LOL) me to win boards. I say that because I can articulate myself pretty well. My supervisors told me my BTZ package would be solid and all I needed to do was show up and do my part. Needless to say, I garnered my stripe. Now that I think about it I did check some boxes...Red Rope, Awards, going to school, volunteer work, and one hell of a basketball player for the squadron.

    Cool story, bro.

  2. Did anyone notice the photo of a scantily clad young lady on the wall in one scene during last night's episode? I was dismayed & insulted. How can we trust these guys to execute this critical mission with blatantly offensive material on display where such fragile eyes can see it?

Aside from that, it's a great show. *sarcasm off*

  3. Holy shit. It's the internet and someone actually admitted they were wrong and apologized.

Soultrain - are you a unicorn?

Just owning up to a misfire & figured I owed the dude an apology. It's his career & it would weigh heavily on me to be in his shoes. Now back to your regularly scheduled program...

  4. Some perspective you've got there, Vetter. Let me get this straight...the AF wants to "###### you" by paying you 110K/year+ for the next 6-8 years, then really twist the knife by making you a member of the retired paycheck-of-the-month club until you turn room temperature at age 89. They're really turning up the heat these days, eh?

Dude, my bad...I just realized you said "passed over to Major" (vs Lt Col...different math). I would've deleted my original post, but figured I'd own it instead. Good luck to you - hope you can walk with a parting gift.

  5. Just trying to get my ducks in a row. I'd really like to get paid to leave after getting ######ed, but I know the AF will get their last lick as they offer me continuation to 20. Thanks for the help!

  6. Cgjohnst, you are not going to like this, but I do not understand your argument. You were selected or non-selected based on merit. If you did not get picked up, you did not make the cut. I understand it is a bit draconian, but that's the military. I get waivers thrown at me all the time. I seldom approve them. Unless it is a compelling hardship issue, the standards are the standards. I had to meet them. I expect everyone else to meet them. You can say that times are different, but if I were in your shoes, if I were in these "different" times and I was passed over, I would march on. No appeals, no waivers.

  7. You know who I feel bad for? The retired dudes that run www.militarycorruption.com...yeah, their heads just exploded in unison upon reading that article. Get ready for the mother-of-all-articles (with Drama-meter pegged at 11) on their website tomorrow.

  8. Great job, "badass"...we'll be seeing your daughter on stage at the strip club when she decides to get even. Teenage girls do & say stupid things, but parents are the ones that can mess their kids up forever with irresponsible crap like this. Clown.

  9. What about the hundreds of people who've killed themselves rolling aircraft that were intended for it?

Curious...you mean some airplanes aren't "intended" for barrel rolls? Chasing our tails on this one...I believe we all know right from wrong here. I get your devil's advocate standpoint...but it's a losing argument. Akin to barrel rolling a T-38 on a UPT instrument flight...certainly possible, but stupid - and with an equally predictable outcome.

  10. Beech 1900-

Wow, that was pretty scary. Quite frankly I'm surprised nobody died.

And...your thoughts on the accident posted above, NEFlyer?

    Narrative:

While on a proficiency check flight both pilots attempted to perform a barrel roll (a prohibited aerobatics manoeuvre). The Beech struck the ground shortly before completion of the roll.

PROBABLE CAUSE: "The deliberate disregard for Federal Aviation Regulations, GP Express procedures, and prudent concern for safety by the two pilots in their decision to execute an aerobatic manoeuvre during a scheduled check ride flight, and the failure of GP Express management to establish and maintain a commitment to instill professionalism in their pilots consistent with the highest levels of safety necessary for an airline operating scheduled passenger service."

  11. I'll tell you what I wouldn't do... and I wouldn't let these guys' guts be spilt in front of everyone at the highest level. Especially, if the dudes in question were good guys with a great combat record. If they screwed up, I'd find out what the perspective was and deal with it internally. My point... don't blow it out of proportion, invest in good people... have their back, discipline and move on.

Copy...non-answer. I didn't ask what you wouldn't do...what would you do? Let's assume these were "good dudes", and this was a singular lapse of judgement. No harm, no foul? When you say "have their back, discipline, and move on"...what exactly do you mean by discipline? Q-3?

  12. CJ-6A....imagine for a moment that you are the Sq/CC of these guys. (let's assume for the moment that what's currently being discussed is fact....because for all we know, it's rumor at best). Anyway...what action, if any, would you take? Would you Q-3 them? Would you feel compelled to let your Wg/CC know? Or would you give them a stern talking-to and put them on tomorrow's schedule?

  13. Nobody is saying that. Your argument is a straw man.

Except for "CJ-6A"...to whom my post was directed. His question was:

"What TO/AFI guidance says not to roll a King Air? The aircraft did not exceed its G-limits, airspeed, or come close to a CFIT scenario."

To me, this sounds like "Who cares? What reg did they break? It wasn't unsafe, so what?" Hammer the mouth-breathers that thought it would be fun to barrel roll a MC-12, and get back to the business of winning a war.

  14. It's not a flippant attitude. This shouldn't have been blown up.. whatever happened to things being handled within a squadron? Guess that was a couple generations ago? You all are crying to lynch these dudes... come on.

"B-B-But Robin Olds would've..."...yeah, I know. Welcome to 50 years later. Try telling the airline Captain conducting your future FedEx interview why you think a willing breach of flight discipline is "no biggie...wasn't unsafe, so who cares?" See how far that gets you. Grow up and set the bar high...it's there for a reason.

  15. So are a bunch of other maneuvers, doesn't make it right. Is doing a barrel roll in your MC-12 going to better accomplished the manned ISR mission? How will the ground force benefit? Could you explain to your SQ/CC why you did it and how it related to the mission? If not you f*cked up, admit it like a man and take it as a learning point.

Dude, blowing it out of proportion would be sending out an FCIF to the entire Air Force. However, don't prove them right by actually coming on here, talking about doing stupid sh*t in the jet, and then being either too stubborn or too dumb to admit that perhaps what happened was not warranted and represents exactly what the AF is trying to prevent in writing said memo on flight discipline.

Shack. Flying airplanes is "fun" enough when you're inside the 11-2XXXv3 parameters...showing your ass & willingly disregarding the rules is foolish. Be afraid of the guys who see nothing wrong with that or, worse, gotten away with it and still see nothing wrong with it. CJ-6A...your flippant attitude is disappointing. I hope you're not in a position to influence the younger dudes.

  16. Seriously... how many pilots do you know who make up a story about how they DIDN'T bang the hot NBA cheerleader?!? :banghead:

At the risk of sounding like an asshole, I'm calling BS. "Uh, yeah...I would've banged the NBA CHEERLEADER that was throwing herself at me, except I've got this super-hot girlfriend in Canada." Isn't the internet wonderful? Either way, the story about hosing a Tops In Blue douche makes up for it...so we cool.

  17. Another vote here for the ATP from Accessible Aviation (Starkeville, MS) for the guys near Columbus. Carl N. takes care of his students, and you'll know your sh*t when it comes time to take the checkride. Couple that with the written exam from Sheppard Air & you're good to go. ATP is good forever...get it done while you've got the hands...even if you're committed to staying for 20.

  18. Good read.

I still think my buddy had it right when he said:

"All we need to do is build hot robot women that ###### like wild animals, and airdrop them into every shit-hole in the world. Because its easy to go crazy, when all you have to ###### are goats."

But whoever is making them has got to hurry up and get a better looking prototype than this:

DARPA...are you listening? Perhaps they could be weaponized with Fem-Bot sweater cannons.

  19. I was with you right up until I saw the Grapefruit-flavored beer beside your zombie killer...unless your plan is to serve it to the undead with a pink umbrella in it. Either way...badass gun!
