As a pilot about to leave for IFT mid May I can confirm that RPAs are taking the slash on their IFT slots. As of right now in my element all pilots IFT dates are unchanged however the RPAs are all cancelled without new date.

T_ChaseR, has their been any discussions at IFT on a waiver being signed for RPA training. I got a buddy in the May RFT class and they told him to prepare as normal.

    Yes.

As you guessed manned aviators are more important. If you needed IFT and you're an RPA or CSO you're SOL. All the guys who got to IFT before are gone and they're continuing their respective pipelines (at least as well as they can). There has been chatter they may just axe IFT in general for RPAs, but its 100% rumor. At least the thunder birds flew over my house for 10 seconds yesterday.

Edit: additionally the number of RPA students being affected is almost in the triple digits, and there are rumors that someone higher up may waive a magic wand and waive IFT away. I can only imagine that this would further reinforce the stigma of being an RPA "aviator" and our lack aviation credibility for our community. The only time we get to be in a command of a "real" airplane, and poof* there it goes.

I heard the same rumors from people in the community, but per AFPC IFT is still a go. A buddy in the May class said it’s still up in air when he called for lodging.

Question about medical: sort for the length and confusion but I’m extremely confused about what forms and paperwork I need to submit to get my physical started. I went into my IMR and requested a flight physical. What are the documents I need to submit to the email they gave me? I’m waiting on access the the PEPP site( I’m guessing some of the forms I need are in here?). It says submit CC/FM approval letter(not sure what this is), AFPC email(my career field assignments officer’s email??), and AMS listing (not sure what this is either)as well as verbiage required on the AF422 (I know what the form is but do I have to go into flight medicine to get a 422 and fill it out?) and any other required docs (vauge but anything else I’ll need to turn in?)

Thanks for any any help in advance.

Flight Med should contact you after you make that request in IMR, but I would just give them a call. Flt med should send you and make you fill out several papers and then schedule a audiogram, labs, optometry, and chest x-ray. The paperwork is like family history, disclosure stuff, and etc. I highly recommend you call your flight medicine off and See what they would like. After all this you will have an appoint with the flight doc and he will examine you.

Just saw the Mypers announcement this morning... Air Force is rolling out two UFT boards for active duty officers this year and launching a new prep program for bubbas who are qualified with less than 5 flight hours. Good news all around for people applying this year.

This looks quite interesting I wonder if they have done any programs likes this before?

I used Barrons and was 91 or above on each section. Pilot score of 97.

Maybe a silly question, but are you timing yourself when you take the practice tests? I find that to be hugely important. None of it is hard, but the timing and finishing all questions within the limit can be difficult.

So I’d definitely recommend using the time limits when you do the practice tests.

Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

So I have been timing myself. I am usually finishing ahead in everything except math and the table reading. The verbal and word I have been using GAMOOSH or whatever but that is all up to the word I get that day and being able to decipher the prefix or suffix.

so far I am getting most of the aviation, instrument and block reading right. I am also getting 17-18/25 right for the math and verbal stuff and I am using the Barron and trivium books.
