  1. The full stats weren't available yet today but last year there were a lot more promoted for I/APZ. I'm not sure if the '02 year group is smaller because of RIFs or if the rate was lower.
  2. Looking at the list it appears there were 1068 I/APZ that made it.
  3. I got good news today, but don't know the overall stats and my organization is very small as far as IPZ Majs. I was lucky enough to get the elusive promotion with a "P," but I had a strong push from my 3 star senior rater.
  4. Should be tomorrow for most followed by public release Thursday morning.
  5. Pretty sure senior rater types have it now but I don't think they are supposed to tell people until the day before public release, but I suspect some will find out tomorrow.
  6. So how does the scoring system at a promotion board work? Everyone starts with a 7.5...then does a DP add a certain number of points? Is there actually specific guidance in the scoring or is it simply board member overall judgement and they all use their own scoring system to assign a score to the record?
  7. Learjetter, how do board members know if you are IPZ or APZ? Is there a code somewhere on the PRF? I only see the box checked I/APZ. What tells them what year group you are in? Do they have to look at the dates on DQHB?
  8. Something else I found of interest was slide 5. It states that MAJCOMs had a 64.3% select rate but "other" had an 82.3% select rate. Is "other" places like HAF, COCOMs, etc? I wouldn't have thought that 43% of eligibles would have come from that pool.
  9. Chuck, good post. But I look at my O-5 PRF and don't know if I will be promoted. I have the "p" box checked but was strated #1 in a small pool of 5 by SR and have a super P and a bottom line that says all the right things. Is this the senior rater saying I need to fit in that 40% or so of "p"s that get promoted IPZ? Is having a strong SR strat one of the keys to being promoted with a "p"? Of course I have realistic expectations simply because the P is checked.
  10. It would be helpful to know what a gray zone "P" PRF looks like for O-5 IPZ. I have no idea what a record at the "cut line" would look like. I don't have access to previous years PRFs. If I knew what a PRF right on the edge of the promotion line looked like (assuming all boxes checked and no big negatives) I would probably be able to better discern my chances.
  11. Is recent performance in the current grade most important? For example, for Lt Col board does performance as a Major weigh a lot more than CGO performance?
  12. I do not have anything negative I am not sharing. Really it comes down to I haven't seen a lot of other O-5 PRF's to compare myself to. I was hopeful ( and thought I would) get a DP but realize that I am on a small staff and my SR doesn't have an outright one. I probably would have gotten one at my old wing. I figure I must have been going against a bunch of IDE in res grad guys at the MLR. I have not personally talked to my SR about it because he is a 3 star and has a very busy schedule and has been TDY a lot. My supervisor (O-6) said he would be surprised if I don't get promoted. This is the first time I have ever gotten a "p" (of course it's only my 2nd IPZ PRF) and have never been an exec so I don't really know how to compare myself against the competition. "P" has always had a negative connotation amongst my peers--like once they hear you got a "p" they assume you are going to get passed over.
  13. I have good job progression and solid strats and good top 10% Maj strats at SQ and WG level, numerous FGO awards including SQ FGOY, and a SR push that strats me 1/5 IAPZ and "if I had a DP, he'd get it" with all the right pushes. My SR didn't have a DP, and I didn't get one at MLR. I feel good about being in a good position but you never really know with a "p" and what the competition is bringing to the table.
  14. So what do you smart guys consider to be the key factors in getting promoted with a "p" to O-5? (Yes I am facing that) I saw someone post earlier that historically 85% that get passed over have no SR strat.
  15. Are SR's judicious with "super P" statements such as "my next dp?" Are they held accountable by the MLR on stuff like that? How often do P PRFs have the wording "definitely promote" from the SR in line 9?
