hot take alert: if you wear the two piece flight suit you're a beta cuck flyer who is complicit it the eventual eradication of the green bag. Shame on you and your disrespect for tradition and may god have mercy on your soul

That's cute.  Be sure to tell the PJ that after he pulls your ass out of some shit hole.  Everyone who's been there knows that the color of the nomex doesn't actually matter so long as it works.  F the nonners.  They play no part in a warrior's self esteem.

I need to R2 my sarcasm detector

New reg change? Lol. That’s cute. I’m not giving up wearing my colored morale shirt…sorry (but not really). #guardhard #goguard

Did flying units actually stop wearing colored morale shirts?

I will say, I'm pretty happy about the baseball cap in flight suits change.  Of course the effective date is the same day my participation in the Guard goes nearly to zero as I near retirement.  Thanks for nothing!

I grew up in AFSOC and so we were leading edge of the two-piece multi cam flight suits but…

I have done two “career days” at my daughter’s school when she was in elementary. Wore the two-piece to one, and all the kids were like, “Woah you’re an army man!” Ok good try kid…0300, infantry, ya made it 😕

Wore my bag to the next one. Kids that time, “Are you a pilot?” At the time…no, but well done anyways young lads and lasses, you’ll grow up big and strong.

BL: They can take the green bag from my cold dead hands now. I’ve had the two-piece multi cam since probably 2010/2011 and yet I only wear it in emergencies. Yea yea taking the top off to poop or when hot, copy. Some traditions are worth a little inconvenience. Also I learned early on that looking cool (and sounding good on the radio) actually matter in aviation, and I teach that same lesson to all the young pups coming up behind me.

The poop things really important. A few times I dragged an olive green sleeve through an unknown puddle on the Cadillac floors in Bagram. Wasn't great when you were trying to reduce gross weight before stepping and you didn't have time to go back and change.

Two peice suits, although not good at picking up chicks, were good for flying in the heat with body armor and a gun.  They also were good for keeping me warm when it was -20 and I still had to fly. Cabin heat sucks in the Huey.  Great for helicopters!   I kinda liked it when people assumed I wasn't a pilot/aircrew.  I got treated better by the support airmen lol.

That is valid, but it’s also less satisfying than showing up at the finance desk in your bag, sleeves rolled, sunglasses on top of your head, looking around like:

They know your wings mean Nav. On the flip side, I have no idea what any of their badges mean.

I don’t know, that’s giving them lots of credit. Most non flyers have no idea what plane is flown at their base.

Yeah, zero chance anyone not a flyer themselves knows the difference in wings.  Hell, I'd bet a lot of enlisted fliers couldn't point out the differences.

Worked for an enlisted Ops sup at one point in career who decreed no flier would go to a base appt in their bag, we would be in ABUs only.  "They don't respect the flight suit, they respect the wings".  Laughter ensued.

I'm going to bitch about crew neck shirts continuously getting ignored for short sleeve blues.

Having your underwear show when one is wearing an open collar, business outfit is inappropriate.

I wouldn't say leaving the top button open on a dress shirt gives a "70s porn look".  Three buttons?  Sure... but no one wears the uniform like Tony Montana.

I love the Marine uniforms... but having a white underwear t-shirt showing is a fashion faux pas.

In reality, it's simply a problem for y'all with no chest hair who are envious of us who do. 🖕

I’ll never understand that willful ignorance. I know it makes me a total try harder but when I worked at the WIC I made sure I learned what satellite was which or what NKE could do what effect (already mastered a computer visrecce). It’s pretty amazing how far something that simple (that takes a max of 30 minutes) goes to helping build a cohesive team.

Relax dog I was (mostly) joking. Wear whatever you like/what is most comfortable/fits your mission the best. I have no doubt other garments outperform the green bag in many ways.

But not in uniqueness, heritage, or looking dope.. which is probably why the Air Force will get rid of it some day. When I see flying group and wing CCs wearing OCPs or the two piece that tells me the green bags days are numbered. Because anything special or cool going on in the flying ops world must eventually be neutered in the name of inclusivity and preventing hurt feelings.

Back in the 80's and early 90's many Crew Chiefs had additional duty as Flight Mechanics and were awarded enlisted aircrew wings. Some units sent them to survival and SERE trng and after 2 years of active flying they became permanent. Also, SAC awarded Master Crew Chief or Technician badges which were not easy to get rewarded. But if you left those units to a TAC later ACC unit Chiefs wasted no time by telling Crew Chiefs to rip them off, plus if you wanted to see some little bitch's wear an issued leather flight jacket for the once-a-year blues inspection or a PME class with wings above your ribbon rack.

I personally find it offensive that we are accusing the United States military ... of being ‘woke’ or something else because we’re studying some theories that are out there,” Milley said.

How this dipshit still has a job and hasn’t been dragged in front of congress for his epic failure in Afghanistan is beyond me. Talking to a lot of my grunt buddies…one of the least respected “members” of the SOF community.
