Liberty University offers a flight program as well as an AFROTC detachment, knocking out both of your concerns. It is a private school, and therefore pricey, but it’s what you’re looking for in Virginia. You could look into AFROTC scholarship opportunities to help offset the cost, too.
*Edit* Feel free to send me a PM if you're interested in the above. Virginia also offers a 2+2 program with community colleges (like engeguy posted below). I've got some experience with that stuff, so just let me know.

A friend of mine currently in T-6s has said they do a mix of area work and instrument approaches. It seems like it’s similar to the T-1 transition phase, just obviously with much shorter sorties.

C-12s weren't on your list, but there's nothing bad about them.
1/2 -- deployments are rare (and usually voluntary). Banker's hours most other times and even RONs are pretty unusual.
3. Morale is great because it's a good deal in a good spot and most people asked for it
4. The plane isn't going anywhere soon
5. Elmendorf/Yokota, unless you're with DIA or AFMC.
And if you hate it, you only have to deal with it for 3 years.
I was wondering if there was anything to update about the C-12. How is the ops tempo, fam life, morale, etc looking now for new copilots? Thanks a ton in advance!

Good stuff, thanks for the info! I grew up near Langley and never really knew what those guys did.

The Adair t-38s aren't aggressors. It's a good gig for a raptor baby, but it's not aggressors.
(Expectation management)
The ADAIRs help train raptors for combat against non-stealthy enemies, right? And, if you drop 38 ADAIR out of UPT, does that guarantee you a raptor after a couple years?

Not really sure, others here will have a better guess than me though. Sorry man

Just curious, do the guys/gals know beforehand what airframes (and how many) will be dropped on their assignment night?
As you said, the top and bottom will generally have a feel for where they are so they can at least make educated guesses. Allowing the middle guys to know exactly how many of each airframe is available would help them judge with a higher degree of accuracy what airframe they may end up in.
Pretty sure T-1 guys get to see "what's available" for drop night (airframe, location), but T-38 guys basically make a dream sheet.
As far as how many of each option are available, I don't think that's stated. So it could say "C-17 Charleston, C-17 Dover, etc" but not how many 17s to Charleston or Dover.
-
Has being non-vol'd to -38s happened before? If so, do those guys end up loving it and getting fighters, or have there been cases where they were non-vol'd -38s and "non-vol'd" to fighters? Just curious.

Does anyone know whether the students who dropped the 3 x U-28 and 2 x C-146 put those high on their wishlist? Just curious, thanks!

I didn't realize they dropped these at UPT... that's sick. I always figured that was one you had to switch into.

What do you mean by black jets? T-38 Aggressors?

Did the PC-12 already do this back before the transition to the U-28? I’d imagine it’s more expensive now though than the 208, but could still be a good option.
