was thinking the same thing...no US fatalities? no taliban takeover? what evac was he watching?

Pompeo wasn't in the seat during that part. Blinken had taken over by then. Pompeo's certainly going to distance himself from events after January 2021.

True, but what will the civilian background dudes think? I’d bet there’d be a mutiny since they wouldn’t have been afforded the same hiring “privileges” in this scenario.

Plenty of civilian flow hires got seniority numbers weeks or months ahead of actually starting class.

Was given a 5 on form “do not recommend for service”.

So a 5 on DD785?  Just call it that.

A 5 is no joke and I sense caginess in you, bro.  I wouldn't hire you.  Hopefully you'll be more forthcoming with an interview board.  With a 5 on DD785 you'll need a waiver at the very least.

Funny, Republicans used to be fans of "if you don't like it, don't work there/ buy their product/ live in the state".

Yep.  Vote with your wallet.  Weird thing is, he still seems to care a whole lot about the voting habits of a state he's boycotting.  I'd love to see him fully boycott GA.  He can boycott it so thoroughly that he can pretend it doesn't exist.

    How did he interfere?

Boycotting Georgia over a voting bill that had nothing to do with him for one.  (BTW, Georgia broke voting turnout records last week.)  I know, I know...you'll say that's not interference.  I'm glad to hear you're ok with the Koch brothers' influence.

How is supplying drones to an occupied country interfering in democracy?

    Reading is hard, eh?

I'm thinking Fidelity, but does anyone have a recommendation for a good, one-stop-shop, for investments, banking, insurance, etc?

I think I'm going that way - at least for 2 out of 3.

US ATM reimbursements, 2% rewards card, good index fund investing, good-enough balance forecasting (because most of my expenses will be on the linked 2% card and I can autopay my other big expenses).  Obviously that leaves insurance elsewhere, but maybe specialized labor is a good thing.

they offer unlimited ATM reimbursements (seriously, used a $10 fee ATM in Vegas once and they paid me back),

Well USAA just decided to drop their ATM fee reimbursement from $15 to $10 per month.  Gotta find that Gronk money somewhere I guess.

Anyone have any recommendations on a personal finance/budget tracking program that will actually update and show the TSP balance?

    Short answer, no.

i use Fidelity full view.  I manually input my TSP balance as fully invested in S&P 500 index because I’m 100% C. It tracks decently well with my actual TSP balance.

I can’t wait to roll my TSP into a more user friendly account.

I switched to Navy Fed a few years ago from USAA. Have no regrets, their customer service is spot on.

Just opened a Navy Fed account this morning.  They have a local branch for me, too, which will be handy every once in a while.

What’s the deal with radiotelephone operator license? Do you need to have it with you or just pay to play for it?

You need it with you.  They ask for it every CQ.  Just put it in your airline "war wallet" with your passport, medical, pilot certificate, yellow fever shot, COVID shot (likely if not already for some countries), etc and forget about it until somebody asks for it.

    Why

You knew when they started correlating your ID card to your purchases to your PT test that it was only a matter of time.  Your next PHA is going to have a list of your groceries next to your BMI.  "I'm sorry, sir.  I know you have knee pain after your time as an 82nd ALO, but because you ate a box of Twinkies, your knee pain is grocery - not service - related. 0%"
