  1. I'm not worried about the fines.  Its a general decay in the company since I started with them back in 2003.  It was nice to have overseas for insurance and a military 'friendly' company.  Since then the products and customer service has plummeted.  If I can have my money in one location it makes it easier.

Thank you all for the info. Following up on JavaDocF16’s post, are you saying creatine supplementation should be avoided all-together or just during periods of intense training? All the studies I’ve seen have indicated it is safe and effective for standard strength training, would be curious if you have any studies with evidence to the contrary. Thanks in advance.

He's saying his data is from young Army troops who were probably snorting it.  Done many a charlie round up to FOB/COPs picking up joes who overdosed on a myriad of everyday supplements.

STELLAR TALENT ACQUISITION RECRUITING REFERRAL (STARR) Program

Air Force Recruiting Service (AFRS) is asking for your help in strengthening our force and wants to reward you for your efforts. The STARR program, governed by DAFMAN 36-2806 A2.14.1.6, was created to award medals to Airmen who refer someone to the Air Force who ships to basic training. In fact, if you refer just one person who ships to basic training, you are eligible for an AF Achievement medal. If you refer three who ship, you get two Achievement medals and if you refer five who ship you get an AF Commendation medal (no more than three medals can be awarded to one person). Since its inception in May 2023, 25 AF members have qualified for AF Achievement medals with the first recipient being an A1C that was one week out of technical training school. Imagine putting together a BTZ package, EPB push statement, or even going before a promotion board with a recently acquired Achievement medal. The STARR program is run through the Aim High App and there are just four easy steps to refer someone. 1) Download the app, 2) create an account (using your .mil email), 3) fill out prerequisites, 4) either you as the referrer can put in the person being referred’s information or you can send them a QR code (or link) to fill in that information for themselves (see picture below).

    Warning!  Old Guy rant!!

It took me two years as an A1C to earn my first AFAM where I was the Wing Airman of the Quarter for the largest tactical fighter wing in the USAF (81 TFW).  It took another 18 months as a SSgt to get my first AFCOM.

I know neither is an overly prestigious award, but at the time I felt my hard work and efforts were being recognized and I was proud to receive both!

Recruiters already get a ribbon, why not expand the criteria to get one of those to these individuals instead of watering down awards meant for duty performance?

    /Rant

Army straight pays their folks for them.  This is dumb.

  4. Biden says 'take the win'.  Despite it taking the weight of the US and other militaries to knock down the great majority prior to the waves reaching Israeli airspace.

Sad part is that if we decided to take the non-nuclear gloves off, the US could shut the ayatollahs down permanently in about a week and let the Persians have their country back.

Man, this idiot doesn’t know crap!

I was saying the same thing sitting in the vault for the Al-Assad attack.  "no way they do it" 🙂 Never again

  7. I can think of a thousand random courses that the Air Force makes guys go to that are worthless.  If a guy/gal thinks they can get through it, I can't think of a better use of time/money for someone who is motivated and wants to do it.  It's the military after all regarldess of service.

Spent some time up at Dahlonega working spin up with some teams.  Stayed in the cadre dorms and hung out at the instructor bar there.  Was a great time.  One of the school candidates asked us at chow one morning if we could go find a replacement leatherman for him as he lost it and was going to be in a world of hurt.  Said he'd pay us $50 for our trouble 🙂 Quick trip downtown one night and got him his $13 leatherman.  Hopefully he made it through.

  8. We've come a long ways from having to get permission from PA and inform MOCC of being out on flightline taking pictures of aircraft to now EVERY person on base can pretty much do it with impunity.

Good point. DoS officials should be checking with the Twitter Feed Verification Department before making such wild claims.

Hah.  Sure.  It's pretty heavily documented by open source imagery.  Where do you think they are magically getting all this modern equipment?  There couldn't possibly be any motive for saying Russia is at the same state they were pre-war?

Lots of interesting Big Safari history out there but one of my favorites is "Poobah's Party" from Gulf War 1. Took a bunch of retired Army short range nuclear cruise missile type done things and modified them to basically be a bunch of MALD. They got the Iraqi IADS (KARI) to illuminate and were subsequently schwacked by the good guy SEAD players. Pretty awesome story.

    Great reads

    Wait a sec. WTF?

Kurt Campbell, US Deputy Secretary of State says Russia has completely reconstituted its military.

We spend over a hundred billion dollars to weaken the Russian military, and this dude says it has had no effect.

    Starts at 29:50

Needs a big more in depth review.  Lots of twitter feeds showing the 'reconstitution' involves bottom of the barrel conscripts and mechanized units turned in to rifle units.  A lot of the mechanized units are being backfilled not with armor but with light utility vehicles.

Guilty pleasure fun, but I enjoyed the new Roadhouse.  Admittedly I felt the original was terrible, yeah I know it’s legendary for some reason but could not figure out why, it was soooo bad!  Anyway this new one was fun.

Jesus.  OG Roadhouse was good because we didn't know any better.  New one is garbage.

One would still have to go through a C&P with a medical provider of the VAs and rated by the VA. No one gets a rating without VA oversight. Now if the C&P examiner pencil whips the exam or the rater doesn’t do their job, that’s on the VA.

I went through a company for a couple upgrades of 0% and the company specifically mentioned do not go to the VA C&P exams, I believe it was separate.

Is there an option if you geo-Bach to keep the BAH at your old spot where your family stays? E.G. I get orders to Laughlin but family stays in Denver, can we keep the Denver BAH?

Possible but requires waiver.  Default is you get BAH where your orders state.  Gotta show hardship (family school, etc)
