I don’t…if someone is so dangerous that we can risk them illegally obtaining a firearm then they should remain in prison

I could get on board with that, if we can go back to the 1800s where it was pretty easy to simply execute violent criminals, whether through official or unofficial means. But we’re not in the 1800s, so if you get out of prison after violently raping a woman (or man if you’re BQZip’s mom), conducting armed robbery/assault, carjacking, etc. then fuck you, you gave up your right when you acted like a total POS who would have simply been put down in days bygone.

Above answer is directly related to background checks. I only support them to verify you are in fact not a felon.

  2. Until the moment one is convicted of a crime (and therefore legal to own firearms up to that point), an individual should be able to own whatever they want, including homemade firearms. That also means the NFA is a significant violation of the constitution and should be fully repealed. Any additional roadblocks to ownership/use such as firearms/ammo specific taxes, insurance requirements, banning of whatever, etc. are unconstitutional.

I support restrictions for felons and I’m fine with background checks for purchased firearms (without any arbitrary waiting period), but anything beyond that is unconstitutional and illogical. The anti-gun crowd doesn’t give a fuck about safety or “saving lives,” they care about disarming the public to gain control of the plebes, pure and simple. Your average suburban dipshit who’s anti-gun just doesn’t realize they are simple pawns in said goal, despite whatever hollow, altruistic goals they claim to personally have.

  3. Awards/medals are embarrassing compared to the days of old. Even bronze stars and to some extent, DFCs, are handed out for simple baseline-doing-your-job. Everyone gets a trophy for just breathing and doing average shit. Ridiculous.

WRT your comment, you know alot of guys who have destroyed 5+ enemy aircraft in aerial combat??

I said I know a lot of guys who have shot down 5x UAVs with no offensive capability. Point is, I could shoot down 5 PRC CMs (or UAVs) tomorrow and save the CSG or Taiwan, and while satisfied with my work, not 0.1% of me would think about ace status. And anyone who said I was I’d tell them to get fucked. And that is how 99% of modern day fighter pilots feel about it. I of course have to account for the 1% super douche who thinks they should stand along side the likes of Dick Bong.

Go kill some J-20s, etc. and you’ve earned it. Again, this line of discussion takes zero away from the massively awesome and well executed actions over the last several months (by the way, US fighters have been shooting shit down in the region for over a year, this occurrence is just notable due to the number).

Does a tail gun count as an "active capacity"?

Sure, that is something that can actually kill you.

USAF shot down 70....repeat 70 drones last night.  How many drone aces in the strike eagle community today?

Another good example of how a bullshit deployment can turn on a dime. Good work strike bros. And awesome work by all the maintainers getting it done under very hairy circumstances.

They’re honestly doing a great job limiting their impact to civilians.

They really aren’t. CDE basically doesn’t exist. Now that said, they absolutely aren’t purposely targeting civs and I find little sympathy for the ton of civs there that actively support Hamas. And I do blame Hamas solely for putting legit mil targets purposely under/around/next to as many civs as possible. Could Israel do better, yes, but are they between a massive rock and a hard place, also yes.

  7. Waiver via secretariat process as to why your family is staying in Denver (and if possible, try to sell it as a benefit to the AF). Probably should end it with something like:

”…and if you do not approve this waiver, please know I am of sound mind and do not have any suicidal thoughts, regardless of what my wife tells the police.”

Well, in this era. They were doing it in the 40s-60s with the communism hunting, right?

Wait a minute, that’s something a commie would say…he’s a commie witch, burn him!

  9. Not sure what can that is, but I highly recommend DA Wolfman for 300 BLK. With my reloaded 220gr subs, it’s quieter than my nail gun (host = 10.5” with pistol length gas system and SA adjustable gas block). Maybe my favorite gun to bang steel with. The Wolfman also works awesome on any 9mm host and on 5.56 (though there are better options for a dedicated 5.56 can, it’s still damn good).

Still trying to rationalize how that «accident» could have happened.

It’s pretty straight forward - he purposely rotated way early (e.g. ignored the fact that you don’t rotate until rotate speed) and then threw the gear handle 1 sec after weight off wheels. Either because that was his normal habit and it just hadn’t bit him yet or he was shining his ass on a takeoff out of Fallon at grad 1v1 doing a “low transition” as it has been called.

RC: He had been taught poorly by his IPs up to that point or he was a young guy doing dumb shit (we’ve all been there in one way or another).

  11. @HuggyU2 The -1 performance data is bad, or ACC’s “gonkulator” TOLD is bad? Assuming something of the latter nature, is ACC literally ignoring the problem when shown T.O. guidance is different than MAJCOM guidance?

No skin in the game, but I’m really curious now.

  12. Make mail-in voting illegal in all 50 states and require state-issued ID to vote. That should have happened yesterday and would solve the issue helodude is talking about. However, still doesn’t address the IO campaign the DNC and media/tech are leveraging. Admittedly the RNC would do the same thing if they weren’t so inept and fragmented (and actually had media/tech on their side), so this isn’t a partisan statement, it’s just stating the current situation.

  13. Was the 2020 election “stolen?” No, I don’t think so as there is no evidence of large scale, impactful voter fraud. But was it substantially skewed towards one candidate through a concerted effort at the fed and state level in collusion with media companies and big tech, fuck yeah it was. And that to me is just as big of a problem as “direct” voter fraud.

UPT O&Bs happen everyday, we have the resources

it's about focusing on going somewhere different and exposing SPs to new environments, not just the canned 100nm away stereo airfield.

All about it, but I’m sure they’re not resourced for standard O&Bs to CO, UT, NV, etc. The XC is probably the only realistic opportunity. But I’m not a UPT guy, so just speculating.

  15. Sure, in a perfect world with tons of resources. But really high DA is more a flight planning emphasis than execution. In the end, while speeds are higher and distances are longer, pulling back on the stick at the correct speed and confirming positive rate of climb prior to moving the gear handle are the same actions regardless of DA.

Edit: And maybe I’m just old now, but young guys, you are not cool for getting the gear up as low as possible. Don’t be an idiot and shine your ass trying to “max perform” your takeoff.
