  1. Just saw the advisory from higher: 0518 board results delayed "30 days" due to hang-ups at the "national level". Duck, somehow this is your fault.
  2. The way I see it, being a pilot in the USAF right now is like flying spins in an ejection seat equipped jet. We're in the spin at pretty high altitude, hanging with it. Changing the ADSC reg told us (mid-spin) that our ejection seat has a min altitude of 15,000A for a safe ejection. Could I stick with it and probably come out ok below that? Maybe, but why risk it? I just found this out in the middle of the event, do I really want to press to test? You'll start seeing a lot more pilots reject staff assignments, and/or reject requal after those assignments. Separating at 12 years of service will become the norm...especially with BRS. We few caught in the middle before will probably punch instead of going for 20.
  3. Duck's future isn't riding on this one, so it'll be on time.
  4. Why? Because that's hot. How many prop strikes you think the FTU would log in a year?
  5. Reads: "I think we just got our asses handed to us."
  6. So it's harder for bad guys to read their subdued SOAR nametags and patches.
  7. make no mistake: Big Blue is indeed the bandit.
  8. I knew it. Griswold was just a cover!
  9. Thank you for saying what I can't.
  10. ...oh the things I can't say because I'm NATO right now...
  11. You'll have to excuse my friend...he's a little slow. Ensure is a hell of a drug. He clearly meant Starfox.
  12. Bendy, if you have a twitter account, you could be President someday soon.
  13. Not in it for the political debate. I will, however, confirm this. I've lived in two different countries in Europe (west and east) over the past 5 years. Europe does NOT have it all figured out. Insane taxes. Humungous bureaucracy. Ridiculous economic shackles. It's not good. I've also been approached by Europeans who, in the same sentence, will comment on the stupidity of American politics and gun laws...then ask how the citizenship process works and how their kids can get accepted to US schools. I have seldom heard of US citizens who love the wonders of European socialism so much that they immigrate this direction. There's a reason America attracts so many. It's not because we're socialist. The social and economic solutions that Europeans are implementing are European, not American. America needs American solutions to American problems. Make America socialist and our economy, government, and society will collapse. I can say that with certainty as I sit in an eastern European country that was a thriving monarchy and relatively democratic nation until socialism and communism completely destroyed it. This country is a wreck now and it's been technically free of socialist government for almost 30 years, but the 'recovery' is extremely slow. We do NOT want this in America.
  14. That's how the Army spell "Joint": "A.R.M.Y." ...although I've heard a grunt misspell "army" in a conversation before, no joke..."I am not in the air force, I'm in the army, 'A.M.R.Y.', where we do shit right!"...I smiled and walked away. I will burn every OCP colored item I have in effigy if Big Blue ever again forces me to work for the Army.
  15. We'd be lucky to raise to Browns status. Thankfully most of the rest of the world is in high school JV status.
  16. Thanks. I'm guessing the B-course is about 3-4 months. I'm trying to time out scenarios to separate, then get hired by the airlines while also getting hired in the reserves. My only known quantity in the process is that wherever I land in the airlines, I want to put in at least a solid year before I take any significant months away for mil activities (if possible). I refuse to game the system to the detriment of my reputation or flying skills. I'll be in an API-6 billet near duke, so it's possible I could get qual'd in the C-146 before transitioning out of AD, though unlikely, especially with that new ADSC guidance. I might not even get re-qual'd in the herk. Not worth 3 more years of big blue's concept of "stability". Not really sure how to weave it all together in such a way that it's not a drain on the reserve unit, but still build my continuity in the airlines. The most feasible scenario in my head is to wait until after the first year of the airlines and then try and get hired in the reserves. It's either that, or find a C-130J unit to work for (will need an in-house requal). Duke would make it great as I wouldn't have to commute to work there though. I'm open to wisdom on the transition.
  17. It better involve the GAU-8 somehow connected to a herk prop...
  18. Revival. I'm considering applying to the reserve unit at Duke. Would they take a herk WO?
