  1. Let's see which ones apply: Yeap, definitely in an abusive relationship.

  3. Beware pro rata. Move any Trad IRA money into a Trad 401k if at all possible. Try to do the contribution and conversion in the same calendar year as the tax year. ie not between 1 Jan and 15 Apr. Makes the bookkeeping easier. Be careful with your tax software if you DIY. I find it’s not always intuitive to make the actual forms read correctly. I always check the actual 8606 (not just the tax software questions) against an example before I file.

  5. Active duty experience only. Crew chief schedule will flex with flying window, surges, exercises, TDY, and deployments. Could be weekday shifts 8 hours, could be rotating shifts of 12 hours. Could be just straight 12 hour shifts until shit is fixed. Every location will be different depending on the mission. Bottom line, if you're goal is to become a fighter pilot, you'll find the time. My crew chief school was around 6 months of actual school. Who knows what it is now though.

  7. The left in action. An alleged top law school, has a bunch of student numbnuts who can’t even hear any rational ideas without going full retard. The videos show how insane the new left is. But things are getting better here in this country with a strong marketplace of ideas shared and then defended or dismantled based on merit /s. https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/restoring-america/faith-freedom-self-reliance/that-tantrum-at-stanford-law-school-and-what-to-do-about-it

  8. Switched to straight cash back as well. 2% from citibank. Amex caught up to my retirement about a year or so after.

  9. Can't argue that thinking and a tip of that hat to your retirement plan. I'm planning as if I can retire when I start to draw my guard retirement around age 57. Who knows if I will, but that's the dream. I live in a weird spot where I am 25% in the left seat (vice 60-65% as a WB FO). Lucky that everyone thinks the 717 is the worst place to be...hopefully it continues. I did spend some time as the top 10% in the right seat...hard to beat that life. Only upgraded because the seniority and for ability to drop a bunch and still top FO pay.

  10. No. Article 6 ("An armed attack on any party under Article 5 includes an attack on the territory, forces, vessels or aircraft of any party") specifies the agreement considered only European and North American territories "in the Mediterranean Sea or the North Atlantic area north of the Tropic of Cancer," otherwise known as the "Tropic of Cancer loophole." According to the language of the treaty, the Soviet Union could have bombed Pearl Harbor without technically invoking Article 5. The same affects Hawaii. Other NATO-allied possessions that fall outside of the alliance's protection include a number of Caribbean islands, Puerto Rico, French Polynesia, Guantanamo Bay, Guam, the Marianas, Samoa, French Guiana and (still) the Falkland Islands. To note, the language of the treaty has been stretched before, given the entry of Turkey into the North Atlantic alliance...
