  1. The big takeaways are 1. Officer Sicknick did not die on Jan 6th but the media, FJB, the AG, and democrats knew it and lied. Worse, they continue to lie in some cases. 2. The DOJ intentionally failed to disclose evidence as required by constitutional law. They lied to the court. 3. Democrats trashed a couple centuries of precedence by not allowing the minority party to select their committee members, did not allow counter arguments or evidence, and staged a show trial that would have made Stalin proud. In other words, there is no lie too big even if it means the destruction of the truth, legal protections, and the legislative process in order to further the advancement of power. Scary shit right there.

  2. J6 was a violent riot. Tucker's reporting says that as well. However Congress, the president, the vice president, and multiple news networks have been telling us it was an armed insurrection & worse than 9/11 or Pearl Harbor. On a scale relative to those events, it's accurate to say "J6 wasn't that bad." It's also lazy to rely on the "both sides bad" comeback. I recall during the height of ISIS our MSM networks would cautiously report on a dozen children roasted alive by the Caliphate (or whatever latest barbarity) while reminding us that Christian extremists also exist and are bad. My reply then & now is "you're not wrong but GMAFB." there can be no unity or reconciliation in our country without accountability for shitty behavior on any side. On that I hope we agree and if focused on that these conversations can be more unifying and productive. If a J6 or BLM rioter is caught, throw them in jail. If Trump breaks the law, investigate & prosecute. If Biden has been taking Chinese bribe money through his crackhead son, investigate & prosecute. Unfortunately a politicized and unethical DOJ/FBI is only weighing in against one side on those above examples and that is clearly apparent now. I want one country under God with liberty and justice for all.

  3. Couldn't find a good thread to put this in, so I'll put it here. Went to my 1st grader's art night...great to see her happy, but you can imagine how "amazing" all the art was with indistinguishable blobs, cats, flowers, etc. But then, I came around the corner and saw this masterpiece...this kid is fucking going somewhere!

  4. Yeah, this is a particularly concerning aspect of the whole clown show. Karl Denninger does a good job of breaking it down. Excerpt below: This is a serious problem for a number of reasons, not the least of which is the number of people sitting in prison -- or convicted on connived, false claims with no ability for their defense to access the evidence proving that in many cases they were escorted. At worst most of these people are guilty of trespass, but even there you likely can't make it stick as trespass is voided if you're invited or chaperoned, and its quite clear that at least in some cases -- they are. There's another problem too: The Brady decision by the USSC makes clear that the prosecution must turn over all evidence they have which exculpates a defendant. It's not optional and it dates to 1963. The violations here are severe and in fact it appears basically universal. Indeed the definition of malicious prosecution is to bring a case before the court where you know the exculpatory evidence is so strong you'd never win a conviction and you intentionally withhold it from the defense. That opens up the DOJ and even the individuals involved to personal liability. I have no idea how the DOJ thought they'd get away with this indefinitely, but apparently they did think they would.

  9. 2020 BLM/Antifa riots: $2B+ in damages, 100s of small businesses completely destroyed, 100s more w/ significant damage, 700+ LEO assaulted/injured, 20-30 people dead…0 hearings and 0 ounce of give a fuck by congress/MSM. J6: $150M in damages, 0 small business affected, 80-100 LEO assaulted/injured, 1 dead…full up congressional commission and 6.9 billion ounces of congressional/MSM outrage and vitriol. I‘m not excusing the actions of some on J6 or arguing that this comparison means J6 wasn’t a thing. But people need to understand why it is very rational to view these facts, combined with constant censorship attempts/demands, and conclude there is some very fucked up, shady shit going on in our country. Those of you trying to shut someone down because they don’t share your generally MSM-approved viewpoint need to open the aperture. Personally I look at this and all the info I can find and conclude J6 was a thing, it was not even remotely what the Dems/MSM have tried to make it out to be, and the gov/MSM has no credibility when they ignore 2020, but are frothing at the mouth regarding J6.

  10. Correct. And the right has no credibility when they try to launder a 5 minute video into some kind of game changer bombshell that *surprise!!* Jan 6th wasn't that bad. If I can get nothing else through to you guys please hear this: blind subscribers to either political party are intellectual trash who will use any shred of anything that appears to lean their way to validate their pre-existing views. This goes for the entire MSM and the vast majority of right wing online news culture. I think the first step to recovery is acknowledging that both sides have gone incredibly wrong in very different but very severe ways, and after you admit that it's easy to stop playing the tit-for-tat tribal political game.

I don’t know that answer, but it is insane that two people with ATPs, operating in one of the most critical phases of flight when they should be at max awareness, are told to line up and they takeoff instead. Is it a training/SOP problem, fitness for duty problem, experience problem, or something else? It sure feels like this kind of stuff is happening more often, and it concerns me.

  16. They were both bad and I don’t think anyone here is saying J6 was no big deal. But, one was significantly worse than the other in terms of the actual event(s) and the response. If you don’t see that, then you are the “blind subscriber” you railed against in your following post.

  17. It's not even so much that "the government lied." Governments and politicians lie. It's an unfortunate aspect of our system of government. To me, it's more the fact that we're all awash in propaganda and narrative, and so many people are blind to it. The NPC memes that get tossed around are frighteningly accurate.

  22. For the cost benefit analysis part...I take it you haven't spent much time with congressional liaisons and the pissant officers who are selected for those positions. I used to think that a truckload of thought went into decisions before a programming decision was submitted. I was wrong. Very wrong. There is not a lot of thought going into "analysis" in the building. Or the other building for that matter. For the moral argument part - sorry, who made that decision for you?

  23. Worked for me. Showed up with a $40-$45 bottle of whiskey. Nothing extreme but something I'd want to drink! Left it in my truck for the interview but at the end when they asked if I had questions I said "do yall like whiskey? Because I brought some..." (I'm sure you can guess how that went). Whipped it out when I showed up to the social. The way I see it, this is your shot. You can't control every aspect of how your interview and interaction with the unit will go, but you better leave as little to chance that you possibly can.

  25. I've reached that viewpoint based on the body of his coverage of Jan 6th which seeks to generally minimize and downplay the severity of the event. As a result, he latches onto anything, no matter how small, which feeds that narrative. This video is just the most recent example. Putting aside that this is a 5 minute compilation in a sea of violence and mayhem, there are plenty of non-conspiracy explanations for why the cops were nice to buffalo guy for 5 minutes. -the capitol is a large building and the cops in the video didn't know what was happening yet -this occurred early prior to violence breaking out -they were vastly outnumbered surrounded by thousands of rioters I find the third explanation particularly convincing. Put yourself in their shoes. You're a low rent cop in a building that's already been evacuated and now you're surrounded by 10,000 maga nutcases. Do you: a) be nice to them and prevent escalation b) start unloading with your service weapon, guaranteeing a panic, and probably get trampled/assaulted to death c) arrest buffalo guy and march out the front door.. and probably get trampled/assaulted to death If I was a betting man, Id say most of the cops left in the building by the time it was breached.. at least the smart ones.. went with option A. Pop quiz: what are the first two things they teach you in the hostage portion of SERE? -Do and say everything you can to avoid being killed immediately -build rapport

  26. Of course it's a waste of time and money. But if democrats incited a riot that happened in the capitol building of our country during an election certification vote, you and I both know the right would have a political theater conniption too. Dems are going to milk this for everything it's worth, and they'd be stupid not too. If you don't want useless committees and hearings calling your party evil insurrectionists, maybe don't give democrats the best ammunition ever. edit: final put.. I don't know about you but Jan 6th didn't feel like a run of the mill riot to me. There have been a lot of riots in this country in the time I've been alive, but I only remember one time when the riot was inside the literal capitol building.. in direct response to a vote currently in progress.. for the presidency.. egged on by the guy who lost the presidency. That feels pretty damn unique to me.

  27. Ahhh, so Tucker releases a few videos and says “see, all those people were just peaceful tourists”, and you take him at face value? You can have whatever opinion you want on whatever politician, but let’s get a few facts straight. Those people were not part of the guided Capitol tour. They broke through police lines and barricades and entered the building illegally. Were some of them calm and “peaceful”? Probably. But there were plenty who were willing to assault police officers and more than a few explicit threats directed at the lives politicians. Sorry, but when you join the angry mob, MAGA, woke, or otherwise, you’re signing up for potential unpleasant consequences. Veterans of all people should’ve understood the ramifications of the event they were choosing to participate in. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes and all that.

  28. A nice bottle with a message and if you have a local flare where you are from, beer, alcohol, food, whatever, bring it and present to the masses. This is a moment you can never get back. And if you bring a six pack of Miller light, that’s all they will need to know about you. They might not even drink. But if you don’t value your future with that unit and don’t do something special and put effort into it, it’s an easy pass for them. They want someone they would like to hang out for 10+ years and has a good attitude and if you have a family, that they get along with you. You could have the best resume ever but if you’re awkward or don’t make an effort to make a splash in some of the only chances you get, then it’s an easy pass. There isn’t a shortage of people trying to get into a unit. There is a shortage of good people with their heart and mind in the right place that people want to go to war with. A bottle or special gift or a way to set yourself apart is just a small subset of who you are. Don’t just get a bottle and leave it. Make a splash. Do something to make them laugh show them why they want you and can’t be without you. The pilot shortage isn’t so bad that people will hire someone they don’t want to be around in military aviation. Generally speaking.

  29. You can also consider writing a short message on the bottle with a sharpie. Something simple like "Thanks for your time/consideration, etc" and your name. More than once I've gone to a bottle, asked "who the hell brought this?" and then learned about a promising prospect.

  30. That's fair enough. I will point out that past failures are neither acceptable nor an excuse for future incompetence. We need competence in the FAA and in transportation right now. An administrative leader with some vague experience would definitely help with prioritizing some things in that realm. I'll agree that mastery is not a necessity for administration. However a basic familiarization is probably a good idea. When's the last time an AMC guy led ACC, for example. Your point is fair, and open to opinion. Not mandatory, but again, familiarity is probably good. So, I'm assuming you're ok with this: Reminder, Phil Washington has managed two major airports. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phil_Washington#:~:text=Phillip A. Washington (born 1958,Joe Biden's transportation transition team. Should he be able to answer all those questions? Absolutely not. Should he be able to answer at least one of those questions? DEFINITELY. Any pilot, dispatcher, or certified airfield manager would have gotten at least two of those questions. This guy's been a CEO of Denver and LA Metro, and can't even talk about at least ONE of these topics...especially considering the most recent history of air traffic close calls? That's not lack of expertise, that's just doing your homework before getting interviewed by Senate of the United State. It's simply lazy. We don't need any more lazy. But by your logic, that's ok. The predecessors were ignorant of the specifics, so the next guy can be ignorant. Experience entirely gained by OJT for a federal administrator is cool. But bear in mind that a Senator, who's job is even more general than this guy's would be at the FAA, did some homework and was able to talk with even a fake level of expertise. Again. Lazy. FFS, this guy was an Army CSM. He should know better. This kind of political appointee laziness needs to stop. I don't give a shit how bad they were in the past. I am very concerned about our future. Considering the fact that you have adamantly reinforced that you agree with this administration and all it's been doing: the disastrous and treacherous withdrawal from Afghanistan, our completely opaque and apparently open ended involvement in Ukraine, the suppression of a free investigation into hunter biden's dealing, dismissal of President Biden's own mishandling of classified documents while vilifying Trump doing the same exact thing, a suppression of fossil fuels production in the US for no obvious reason...except...the uplifting of green renewables despite overwhelming science to counter their sustainability, the affirmation of providing gender transition surgeries to minors without parental consent, and in general endorsing an agenda over and over that gender and skin color make a difference in one's ability to do their job, the intentional increase of inflation through endless spending of money we don't have, and on, and on, and on...I'm not surprised.

  31. It absolutely matters, even if they say it doesn’t. If they’re inviting you to interview they are giving you a chance to land your dream job (if that’s what this is to you). Getting a nice bottle is an easy way to show how much it means to you and they do notice it. The extra money you spend will be worth it when you get a “nice bottle, man” comment versus getting roasted for bringing something bottom shelf. If you want the job, put yourself in the best position to land it.

  33. Watched a similar thing happen at Kunsan. We held int he EOR 45 minutes when another two ship of F-16's taxing out and decided to Leroy Jenkins down the runway...I will never forget the water spray off the nose wheel, it no shit looked like the Pilatus below, I could not believe the dude was launching. We aborted, taxied back, and went to the squadron. An hour and a half later we hear the two ship diverted to Kimhae due to weather (no shit!) Of course the weather was crap at Kimhae as well and the first aircraft ended up hydroplaning down the runway and taking the barrier. The second dude landed, hydroplaned and had to steer off the runway in order to avoid hitting the other aircraft still stuck in the barrier. The second dude struck the MA-1A chain and seriously forked up the underside of the jet, the engine and as I recall the ECM pod...Nice job for an IP. Didn't hurt his career, years later he ended up back in Korea as DO of the 35th, SQ/SS at Luke, Wing CV, ABW/CC before he was finally relieved...but that is a story for another day.

  34. The last, missing part should be, after 1 hr of sitting in EOR: “we just went to 300, launch now!”…#4’s gear isn’t even up when, “hey it’s the SOF on AUX, we just went below mins, divert the 8 ship to Tokyo.” 100% true story.

Now, he apparently had the whole Covid thing shacked from the get go, so obviously the US government and all its institutions will be wrong about everything, forever going forward. I say we just save ourselves some time, make him the Chief of Staff & then hopefully get a successful presidential campaign going for him for 2028. We’ll be back to being feared and respected (alongside our Russian allies) in no time.
