  1. Wow, the President wants to look into if we can use an existing vaccine or develop a new one to help protect people from a deadly virus, what an asshole!! /sarcasm Folks, vaccines are really really good. Massive net positive for humanity. The levels of disease and pestilence and death our ancestors regularly had to suffer through are just unthinkable today, in part because of vaccines (and clean water & sanitation!). Life pro-tips: Don’t shit where you eat, don’t drink from that murky stream of runoff, and get your MFing vaccines.

  2. That's about the quality of analysis I would expect when you ask a Polish 50-year-old contractor about a geopolitical dispute in a region his family has deep and emotional ties to.

  3. Cool, maybe we can veer this thread into owning the libs again… I don’t see anything new about popular support for a foreign leader fighting an adversary. I bet the 1940 Grammys would’ve had Churchill up on sat video. You know, if they had satellites. And video. And the Grammys… I submit to you that this is a continuation of a long trend in warfare. Top of my head, the Soviet-Afghan War, Vietnam, Korea, Spanish Civil War, I’m sure I’m missing some. Oh here we go: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_proxy_wars

  4. No worries! I took the COVID vaccines voluntarily in order to protect myself and my family, along with many others over the years. I also got about 6-9 anthrax boosters on a more "voluntold" basis but what are ya gonna do 🤷‍♂️ I'm sure taking doxy for approx. 690 days while deployed (all while breathing in burn pit fumes!) was also totally harmless and healthy 😅 (live look at me seeing my buddies retire & get their ratings) And as a commissioned officer in the world's greatest Air Force, yea, I do "trust in our federal government" a fair bit I suppose despite all the shenanigans and buffoonery I've seen in ~15 years of service. Much more good than bad overall, plus the checks keep coming on the 1st and 15th which I greatly appreciate & hope to continue for the rest of my life. 🍻 Re: monkeypox...I knew all that sketchy unprotected sex at European raves would come back to bite me in the ass someday... https://apnews.com/article/health-world-organization-united-nations-animals-72a9efaaf5b55ace396398b839847505 How can you blame me though??

  5. Has anyone seen how monkey pox is being transmitted? It isn’t the same as COVID, that’s for sure. Seems like an easy way to avoid transmission, at least from the couple of different articles I’ve read. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

  6. The big issue with the Russian collusion crap, outside of influencing an election, was it out a cloud on Trump's presidency that undermined the legitimacy of his official position. In other words, with every policy or effort he put forward, it was dismissed with skepticism his entire presidency because people believed he wasn't even lawfully president. That said, there is a bit of irony because that was the same play with the Obama birther hoax. However, this is a dangerous game to play and one that invites insurgency. Between this and election fraud claims, the trust that Americans have that their leadership is actually elected democratically is very low. When that trust is extinguished, you better believe there will be terrorism, insurgency and civil war by the people in am effort to restore the institution. It's stunningly dangerous to our democracy.

  7. I want Hillary to go to jail for any of the many illegal things she's gotten away with over her misbegotten career. To show that justice works for both the little people and those "too big to fail." I want some convictions, in particular, over the Russian collusion fiasco because I want the executive branch to know that it's not ok to pick sides. I do not want to see the continued weaponization of various federal agencies along with their resources to absolutely fcuk over peoples' lives. I want the various GS13s-15s/SESs' to understand they will face consequences for doing illegal things in pursuit of partisan political objectives or to fight against those policies with which they disagree. I do not want more rogue CIA/FBI/IRSI employees. I do not want jumped up Lt Cols who think they should set policy and not those elected officials. A few perp walks might make someone reconsider for the next time.

  9. Of course it can. It has been for decades. But the Air Force isn't suddenly interested in reevaluating that mix to see if there's a better distribution of sim and aircraft hours that will result in an acceptable product. They fucked up, they're out of specific resources, and they are going to mold the solution to fit the shortage, not the training/proficiency requirements. We all know the score. How many of these new methodologies include more time in aircraft? When all of your testing scenarios support a predefined conclusion, in this case, more same time will allow for less aircraft time, the result is predetermined. I wasn't around. Did we buy the T-1 because we determined that business jet-trained students do better in the MAF than pilots who successfully completed the T38 syllabus? I doubt it...

  10. So who do you trust to give you pertinent information regarding infectious diseases and treatments? Jenny McCarthy? Q? Marjorie Taylor Greene? Or maybe Alex Jones? I’ll take my chances with the CDC, warts and all, thank you very much.

  11. Small point of order, there have been ZERO reported deaths from MonkeyPox. Not that I want anyone in my family to deal with the symptoms and scars but a small bit of perspective. I've been turned away from donating blood several times, not sure if it was the Anthrax booster, the burn pits or the European raves... Yeah except for that whole giving when they purposely gave 5,000 U.S. soldiers over 250 different chemicals including PCP, LSD, mescaline and BZ with the expressed purpose of testing for delirium. Oh and that time they lied about the Gulf of Tonkin. Wait there were WMD in Iraq. And eavesdropping on Americans through bulk collection. You are correct, simple shenanigans. Give me a call when you get closer young Jedi Nope, not one bit.

  12. So I’m confused…Biden said we’ll use our military to defend Taiwan against China, but right after he made that statement, his staff was quick to make a a “clarification”? So which is it? 21. Worth noting that if you've ever been vaccinated for small pox, the small pox vaccine has 85% efficacy against monkey pox. The viruses are in the same family.

  23. The strange punctuation and capitalization of random words gives your post somewhat of a National Enquirer feel. Good stuff. Anyway, the vaccine has not been proven to lack efficacy. I'm not going to bother asking you to cite a source, because I know you can't. But in the spirit of facts, here's my source. You might have a point, wanting the requirement to be dropped. But until they drop it, it's still an order, a lawful one at that. We don't get to cherry-pick which lawful orders we follow. Otherwise we could just call them suggestions. And in a strange turn of events, we also don't get to decide what countries we deploy to. I kept telling my last commander that we should deploy to Tahiti, but it fell on deaf ears and we ended up in Afghanistan.

  24. Step away from the ledge bro. Overpopulation is not the problem it once was. Birth rates are declining and it turns out we can probably support far more people on this planet than we thought even twenty years ago. This “global conspiracy to depopulate the earth” idea is such a stretch. There are so many disparate entities that would have to be working together, there is just no way. If it makes you feel better, I won’t turn on the chemtrails next flight.

  25. The point being: just as before, these events are rehearsed before they are implemented. It's not that they're good guessers. Global non-governmental organizations know the ends they mean to achieve, but the outcomes haven't been nearly as predictable as was thought. Unlimited growth in a finite system has consequences. Those who have the means and ability to look into the future can see what's coming. World economies are now dependent upon the financialization of continued economic growth. When they can no longer grow, they don't decline, they tend to collapse. However, if you want to attempt a managed decline in worldwide prosperity, you need methods by which you can control and manipulate a global population as they become unhappier, and angrier. Happiness is not a position, it's a trajectory.

  27. If king for a day... Outsource initial ME training, give studs about 15 - 20 hours at All ATPs or other school to get initial ME training. Next training is 50 hours in a light biz jet with type training done at Flight Safety, CAE, etc... not a type check just training and the check is passing the AF program. Last phase is in a Twin Otter or other rugged fixed gear ME type for STOL, Off Airport TO/LND, Tac Approaches, etc... figure about 20 hours. Honestly, if you wanna save money on Heavy / Crew bound studs consolidate all Phase 3 for them at one base with good WX, a few airports nearby and some ranges/terrain. SW USA somewhere Don't min run training AF for what will be almost half of your rated officer force, you will regret it in the long run.

  28. I don’t know how it is in your community, but for us this change at UPT is accompanied by a decrease in training at the FTU and a decrease in hours requirements for MWS upgrades. And none of the tech works as advertised yet. In principle I think you’re right, I’m no Luddite. But all signs trend towards a decreasing organizational emphasis on competence. Good news is we still attract and hire great people, I’ve been super pleased with all of our younger teammates as they grapple through these challenges which are not their fault.
