  1. I’m not a Commander or anybody worth much of a crap in the military, but I’d be willing to be a part of that movement. I don’t think those actions are disloyal or anything like that. Hell, I’d say Lt Col Scheller’s actions epitomize the USAF’s core values in asking for integrity, putting the service before the individual, and a demand for excellence.

  2. She’s a TPS graduate, which explains the difference. She may not have been Form 8 qualified, but test pilots periodically fly front or left seat in aircraft where they are doing all of the flying, to include ground ops. These flights are called qualitative evaluations. The IP, if there is even space for one, is only a safety observer, nothing more. Moreover, test pilots are allowed to log primary time on qualitative evaluations as they are performing the role of pilot-in-command and experimental test pilot, gathering data on handling, flying qualities, systems performance, etc. for later tests and evaluations. I do not take umbrage with her doing so as much as seeing a "run-of-the-mill" pilot turned general stating they flew aircraft in which they were really a passenger while in their commander role. Take, for instance many of the Nellis Wg/CCs. I doubt any of them have actually flown all of the aircraft listed or were qualified given their typical CAF background. Is it okay to state you flew the T-37, T-38, T-1, etc. while in UPT even though you lacked a Form 8 or had an IP onboard? Edited to add: The fighter-type aircraft she listed were syllabus aircraft at the TPS.

  3. Somewhere on the internet, there is a forum of virologists arguing about how to fly fighter aircraft.

  4. How many dead Americans does that equal if we allow everyone to be exposed to the virus organically? I don't know the answer, but in many communities even limited outbreaks have lead to morgues and hospitals being overwhelmed. So while the statistical odds of death and hospitalization may seem slim, letting the virus "run its course" will lead to many, many, otherwise preventable deaths. How many dead Americans are we willing to accept? A million? Two million? More? Are we willing to sacrifice the old and the overweight who would continue to live if not for COVID in the name of Darwinism? If so, why bother treating any disease? Nature selected you for cancer/heart disease/stroke....sorry, not sorry, only the strong survive! Some of you seem ok with that position, but that is not the society I want to live in.

  6. Spoiler alert: ten-minute production, filmed in an abandoned school bus in the woods, where he verbally resigns his commission and talks about all the shít he’s seen in the corps. And to Venmo his wife money. And then that he needs philanthropist support to do what he’s about to do next. Which he later says is to “bring the whole fuçking system down.” And then “we’re just getting started.” Pretty cringey, overall.

  7. Not saying the short term data is worse for the vaccine, nor do the above numbers break down vaccine status (there are vaccinated people amongst that data). But when you look at the data above, the vaccine becomes statistically unnecessary for a large portion of the population. Additionally, studies show natural immunity is far more effective than the vaccine (e.g. keep your natural immune system strong vs. interfering with synthetic drugs). Those, combined with no long term data on the vaccine (the currently unmeasured, potential danger of the vaccine), is what makes it a rational decision for many to pause on the vaccine…for now anyways.

  8. Now do the odds of getting hospitalized or dying from the vaccine.

  10. Fair enough...some of those may be deserved in the Cud Chewing community. However, was it in the middle when he crucified a U-28 bro with non-judicial punishment for losing his weapon then lost his own weapon in the shitter with ZERO consequences? How funny that his command chief found the weapon and returned it to him quietly. Was it in the middle when he ran a CV-22 into the trees and tried to keep going...then almost dodged the Q-3 when everyone else got one? I've personally talked to someone on that flight who thought for sure "he was dead" when they almost flipped over into the trees. I am far to close to the situation and know much of the inside baseball...He was toast but another maniac GO stepped in and told the boss "I can save and fix him." I was also in the room with that boss when he said "some people we can't let fail because they are so many years below the zone." They are so obsessed with making AFSOC/GOs they were willing to overlook a narcissistic lunatic.

  11. Posting an image with text in it that directly refutes the information in a paragraph you just wrote is a new level of stupidity...and for you to reach new levels is not an easy feat. Kelsey was FDA "brass". The Thalidomide saga is a resounding success story for the organization and by extension all governmental health services in this country. The FDA is often derided for being too slow and conservative when deciding on approval of new technologies, but the benefit of their glacial pace is avoiding circumstances like the Thalidomide debacle, which they did. A LOOOOT of children were messed up by Thalidomide in Europe. The U.S. was largely spared because of the FDA. A small number of children were impacted in the U.S. by unregulated clinical trials of the drug, and following that, more restrictions were put on clinical testing to require FDA oversight so that it could be avoided in the future. Thalidomide was eventually approved by the FDA for treatment of serious ailments in adults that can consent to its use with full knowledge of its side effects. It was not approved when it caused widespread harm to unsuspecting mothers and their children. Your anecdote can only serve as evidence for why you should have great faith in something that has made it through the FDA approval process. The exact opposite of the point you thought you were making. Brilliantly stupid. To be clear: this occurs in every one of your posts. If you put half as much energy into a good-faith effort at educating yourself as you apparently do trawling the dark corners of the internet consuming nonsense conspiracy theories that a toddler would roll their eyes at, you'd have discovered the universal cure for cancer (which is likely to be mRNA based).

  12. I flew the A-10 as a TPS student and employed the gun and dropped BDUs (I know, cool story, right?). Am I not supposed to say I flew it? Or in another instance, I flew just 10 hours in a prototype but never had a Form 8. Does that count?

  13. holy checkers move batman. I tell ya where he went wrong is he probably retained PYB's wife as counsel. Actually that's not true, cuz at least PYB retained his earned benefits! 😄 To each their own. ETA: Almost forgot. The irony of posting that manifesto in front of a Chess board does not escape me in the least. yee yee!

  25. Extended stay hotels work as well. I stayed 2 months at a pit pad before moving to an extended stay hotel. No more worrying about getting blocked in the driveway or fighting a bunch of other dudes for fridge space or the bathroom to get ready in the morning.

  26. This is how I differentiate between what I accept and what I don’t choose to participate in. I’ve never preboarded, and when I go out to eat I make sure I tip the majority of the discount back to the wait staff on top of the 20% pre-discounted amount.
    1 point
  27. I see a difference between discounts that don’t affect anyone but the seller (Lowe’s, Epic Pass) and ones that allow me to gain an advantage over regular Joes (overhead bins and seat choice).

  28. Take what you need, not what you can. Try it as a life philosophy. It's not a popular one with the "me-first" crowd. The only time I board early is if I was put in a situation due to my service that I would not be otherwise. Like if I need the extra bin space because I have to hand carry a bunch of pro-gear or have a big computer bag because I am carrying my personal, VPN and JMPS computers. Or if the orders process/CTO put me in a position were I am in zone 10 or the C group with SWA. The license plate thing reminds me of the falling out I had with family members who used grandmas handicapped mirror tag when grandma wasn't with them. "But I am running errands for them" they said...Again, take what you need, not what you can. If your budget is so tight that your 6 figure salary can't afford $80 per year, go ahead and get your NDSM license plate. Another thing that irks me is when I am out with a group from work and someone asks the server for the military discount. It's usually after they have brought the bill and wastes 5-10 minutes of everyone's time just to save a few bucks. I usually politely decline which flabbergasts those who think 10% off is an entitlement. PS: Those dudes are usually lousy tippers. And Lowes...gents, Lowes is for housewives and people who don't know what they are doing. Find a local contractor, become friends, figure out where he shops for supplies and go there. It's usually better stuff, and beats the Lowes 10% off. Lastly, don't get me started on spouses and discounts....

  29. Tracking. The current guy saved him because he needed an ally he could control. Current maniac is trying to do as much damage as possible as quickly as possible so it can't be undone. He believes he is the next SOCOM/CC now that the favorite made a mistake and retired. If he fleets up and Cat 5 replaces him the damage will last a generation. As many have noted, dark days ahead for AFSOC.
