  1. You’re onto something. Some folks are joyless and boring. Ban dancing at weddings? Check. Kissing with masks on? Check. Ban pictures of spouses wearing bikinis in a persons office? Check. Ban books and podcasts, ban parties, wear a mask, suppress normal sexuality but defend pedophilia…. If you’re defined by all the things you want prohibited or ways you force compliance in others, we all know your political affiliation. Likewise if you are a “live and let live” kind of person so long as we all follow common rules evenly applied; we know your political affiliation as well.

  2. From everything I have heard, the 7-figure Captains were a juicy rumor. There was one guy who banked 272 hours in a month (272x$353=$96,000, plus $15,000 in 401k contribution), so I think the rumor mill started with the logic leap that if he had kept that up EVERY month he would have cleared $1M. I had also heard 11 guys topped $1M but can’t find anyone who actually knows these guys. I will add that said Captain always bought dinner and drinks for his entire crew of 13 people. Class act and very nice guy.

  3. Wife had friends over, so needed to get out of the house for a bit. Figured hitting the local cineplex would be a good way to kill some time. Was in the mood for some action/adventure, and narrowed the choices down to: Wrath of Man: Jason Statham does the Jason Statham action thing in a Guy Ritchie movie. Nobody: Better-Call-Saul Bob Odenkirk does a "shadowy badass pulled outta retirement" thing. Army of the Dead: Zombies and Las Vegas. And guns and stuff. Settled on Nobody. Was disappointed. Good cast, good concept, but the whole thing kinda missed, as if they had a half-baked script and just made the rest up. Glad I didn't go to Army of the Dead, just realized it's 2:28 long. Awful long for a zombie flick. Curious about Wrath of Man, but the Guy Ritchie stuff always seems to come off as all sizzle and no substance.

  4. Bill Burr on conspiracy theories. Including flat earthers towards the end.

  5. You read the article? I couldn't get past the picture.

  6. The internet has allowed what we’re otherwise hidden bits of insanity to group together into movements. Flat Earth is the best example of something completely absurd gaining enough traction as to almost call it a popular opinion. 50 years ago if you believed the Earth was flat you either knew to keep that S*it to yourself or you were crazy and homeless. Now you can connect to a whole group of idiots who believe the same dumb ideas as you. Hooray for technology. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  7. If your goal is to fly in The Majors, then going to a Regional airline is most likely your best option. As an aside, corporate / Part 91 flying is getting interesting. Big demand. It’s still “network centric” and the owners often go cheap when looking for pilots. But those that don’t change are going to be hurting bad very soon.

  8. I'd consider the Guard + other flying options. Regionals are a great place to gain some experience and check the box. With your time, even if you had to go to a regional, I'd be surprised if you had to stay there very long. Also, don't count out places like Atlas, ATI, etc... Some of those places allow you to be home based, so you could conveniently live wherever the spouse career allows.

  9. I never said what Lohmeier did was sound, nor that he shouldn’t be held liable for the consequences ; although I feel that he was willing to fall on his sword for this one. I did say he is 100% correct that Marxist ideology is a threat to the military and that critical race theory is a bunch of BS. I do think Biden hiring a partisan hack to spy on military members social media accounts is a step too far and has a high likelihood of going south.

  10. Yes. Military funding, rules of engagement, the entire national defense strategy, and even top level policies that impact us socially all change when administrations change. I'm sure whatever liberals there are in the military weren't thrilled with the political wind direction of the last four years too. Tough. Deal with it. You decided to join a military in a country where the elected civilians are in charge of us.

  11. Far too slippery of a slope to even venture down, yet here we are. Does following an account constitute restricted actions? A like? A share? Who is to determine if something is a joke? Oh, but nuance and context no longer matter... At least the fighter pilot meme pages on IG are having a field day... For now. From the Army cartoon recruiting commercial advertising a woman who grew up with "two moms" who "marched for justice" to this... The leadership at the top has forgotten the reason we f***ing exist. Pathetic.
