  1. Nylander was my flight SRO in OTS. Soft spoken and a real good dude, and a true believer in the Air Force and our foreign policy writ large (something I'm categorically not, in part due to the circumstances behind his untimely death in that FUBAR so-called nation building effort). Died a hero. Complete waste of human capital, that entire clusterf*ck of a perennial war we got going on over there, while private interests all get rich off the carnage. Indefensible mess that should have been nuked from orbit and left to glaze 5 decades ago. I'm also still disgusted at the potshots of cowardice levied towards these casualties by US senior investigating leadership. RIP Nathan.

  2. Delta hiring, AA hiring, Cargo never stopped hiring...I shouldn’t be looking fwd so much to the FY21 ACP numbers but I am. At this rate the USAF should try to screw up the bonus and see if by luck they get it correct. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

  4. Hi all, In the past few years I have honoured to witness some excellent lowfly from the guys and gals of the USAF, and in turn they have recommend that I share some of the snaps with you here. Keep up the great work, and if you are ever in the position of planning a lowfly sortie in the UK and would like some high quality photos then drop me a DM and hopefully we can sort something out. Discretion assured, many thanks for looking, enjoy the photos.

  7. As much as John McCain did in his time, he was a loud voice against a lot of military compensation. “we didn’t need this kind of money to be patriotic back in my day” is what I took away from his position and lobbying on all those items.

  10. Net neutrality had zero to do with the threats we are dealing with from tech companies. But then most NN supporters didn't know any more about it than a few reddit memes.

  11. Never said it wasn't capitalism, just said it wasn't unencumbered, free range as I quoted. Of course we live in a capitalistic society, it's just one where all of the government checks and balances have been corrupted and big money/corporate influence has overtaken any sense of a free market. When huge businesses get tax breaks and tax and other governmental privileges it's not free range capitalism at all, it's a marketplace bought and paid for with the government protecting the big players.

  12. US Government finance is not equivalent to your personal finances. Being the world's reserve currency, the US has special powers. https://www.investopedia.com/modern-monetary-theory-mmt-4588060#:~:text=Modern Monetary Theory (MMT) is,comes to federal government spending.

  13. Yup. Because I had a concurrent running ADSC because AFPC incorrectly dated my GI bill transfer and refused to fix it. Regardless, having seen behind the curtain now, I can speak with authority when I say "don't take the bonus". ...and I did. I got out as soon as I could...right in the middle of a global pandemic, at 17 years of service, while non-current in an airplane, and I haven't regretted that decision even once. So I say again: don't take the bonus.

  14. I don’t necessarily disagree that “mainstream” media is shit in this day and age (and I would include most right wing media in that description). However, I find it comical and ironic that many on the right claim to fervently support the free market, only to make a full 180 as soon as the market doesn’t align with their goals. Seems to me that those who espouse personal responsibility would extend that very American idea to include being more media savvy. That doesn’t mean going all in for InfoWars btw. It means there are sources out there that, while certainly biased, still do real, detailed journalism. Find them, read a wide variety, and you can be a reasonably well informed human being.

  15. Never said it's the only source, but yes it is a primary source. Like was said, the government doesn't actually need taxes to fund anything. The reason bitcoin, gold, or any other alternative currency will never take over the dollar is because the government requires taxes to be paid in dollars. Just look at Cuba, the dollar from expat community runs the economy there. They eliminated taxes after the cuban revolution, and the national peso is now essentially worthless there. It got so bad they created an alternative cuban "dollar" pegged to the value of the US dollar to attempt to maintain some level of control. I'd argue part of the reason the peso isn't used in the economy anymore is that they eliminated demand for it by removing taxes.

  16. Here, I quoted the report because you either: A. Can't Read B. Are Stupid C. Both (I assume C) Sorta hard to push impeachment for collusion with Russia, as it should be, when an independent commission found that Trump did not collude/coordinate with the Russian Government to interfere with the 2016 election.
