I'm also 22 Jan for MFS, so I'll see you there Bob. AFPC told me this date is still tentative for folks. Also, they will be starting to load UPT dates once the 7 day period of accept/decline is up. Those with a PPL have the option to get a waiver with 19th AF in order to attend IFS. Even though it's been a minute since being in the seat, I'm electing to not pursue one, as it will definitely delay UPT dates. Food for thought.

Best of luck. My gripe is that the AF want experience in different programs but then penalizes 2nd MWS or 2nd/3rd tour dudes as being too old.

If the schoolhouses are still as backed up as they were when I went through: Commission: 2015 enter active duty: 2016 complete UPT: 2017 complete initial qual In MDS: 2018 finish SERE, water survival, PCS etc.. then arrive at your first ops unit: 2019 and this hiring board wants 2 ship flight leads/aircraft commanders or better lol their hiring pool is probably still on house hunting leave

Some flight docs go through the actual FAA training and can issue up to a Class 2 I think. They pretty much get the training for post career aspirations but it's not universal. Otherwise, the FAR allows your military class 1 to count as a FAA Class 3 but it's a US FAR, so probably not accepted elsewhere.
