  1. Past hour
  2. My wife just had to deal with this in her career field (veterinary medicine) and after seeing what an absolute pain in the ass the entire ordeal is, it's now my number one reason why I am against changing the retirement age for pilots. If we raise it again, we just need to admit that we are marching towards no age limit, and I really don't want to turn the first officer's responsibility into monitoring and reporting older pilots for losing the mental capacity to handle the job. And that's exactly what's going to happen. Everyone who's been through a first class medical or annual recurrent training knows what a joke it is. Wanna raise the retirement age? Fine. Then we do real, randomized, individual cognitive testing. Every year once you turn 55, and before your next flight if you are reported by another pilot. Easier to just keep it at 65, IMO.

  4. The daughter was making tik toks capitalizing off of it the next day 🙂
  5. They shouldn't have been parked in the bike lane. Reminds me of this gem:
  6. I would totally buy that theory. I've flown with a 64.5 year old that took long enough to answer EVERY radio call when they were pilot monitoring that ATC made a second radio call to us multiple times when the guy obviously heard it and was just still processing the first call for a simple freq change. Many/most guys would be totally fine flying for a few more years but there are a few I've flown with that make a solid case for going back to age 62 rather than up to 67. Problem is not just a simple IQ test; I'm sure they're just as smart as they were 20 years ago, but the synapses just don't fire in the same way as you get older. But if this is the case, we will likely never know unless he left some concrete evidence. It is taboo enough in the States to consider calling something like this out, I can't imagine anyone documenting anything like this in India.
  7. Can you imagine being married to someone for years only to find out via some online viral video that your spouse went to a Cold Play concert? The shame is unimaginable....
  8. That's racist!
  9. Half turboprop half jet biz jet https://www.autoevolution.com/news/gulfstream-american-hustler-half-turboprop-half-turbojet-100-percent-a-weird-idea-218444.html 3 built and tested They reused wings, tail and empennage in the proposed but not purchased Peregrine 600 trainer concept jet
  10. Less than five weeks. I'm going to be in class on August 30th all day. 😞
  11. The Marine Corps instills from the start that you are a Marine first, and your MOS is secondary. Personally all I wanted to do was fly, so I was jealous of Air Force and Navy fighter pilots who had more time to focus their efforts on their primary duty - Flying. With my social science degree the Air Force would've never accepted me for a pilot contract, plus I had 20/400 vision and only qualified with the Marine Corps' soft contact lens waiver. "Every Marine a rifleman, every Marine officer a provisional rifle platoon commander." We all have to go through six months of TBS where we train to lead our peers in various positions of leadership - Squad, Platoon, and Company level. After about two years in my first gun squadron I was offered the opportunity to be the Airframes OIC which put me in charge of about 45 Marines aged 19-52 while simultaneously my Division Lead qualification. It was rough balancing all of it and being responsible for people you didn't raise both CONUS and OCONUS. I had phone calls in the middle of the night about suicidal ideations, alcohol incidents, among others. I don't regret it but I wouldn't want to do it again. That's probably a bad attitude for a Marine officer but that's just my perspective.
  12. Billions of cargo ton-miles flown by 767s every year. OTS systems and parts just lying all around. AF: yeah we want to redesign the tracks and rails. Just cannot get out of their own way.
  13. Has anyone ever been able to pressure Trump? He’s done whatever he wants no matter what anyone says. I do think his DOJ will eventually release them and his “hoax” comments is his way to downplay them since they are clearly not this smoking gun that everyone expected.
  14. From my understanding, a lot of the USAF’s issues with the KC-46 come from their program requirements they pushed to Boeing…the KC-767s have not (publicly at least) shared these issues.
  15. Of course even if a list is released, it’s still circumstantial evidence; nothing illegal about flying to an island. We all can likely infer with high accuracy what happened, but without further evidence, there’s nothing legally that can or will be done. I suppose some reputations will go down the shitter, but there won’t be any real justice. So that really makes it a big WTF the Trump admin is fucking with this. Nobody’s going to jail over appearance on a list, so why are they so concerned? Is this all really just for saving face? Insane.
  16. That's what she said
  17. I'm going with The MAD Theory. Both Ds, Rs, lefty richies, righty richies, etc., are on the "list" and any disclosure of any of them will result in mutually assured destruction by the rest. Hence why any existing list is ash. Maxwell knows enough. If she has any family, they are likely the collateral keeping her mouth shut. Fascinating theater.
  18. Well done sir, as always
  19. Man dies after being sucked into Long Island MRI machine https://www.yahoo.com/news/man-dies-being-sucked-long-010715530.html I wonder if the operator saw him.....
  20. Yeah, but I've heard the JSDAF's booms are smaller and easier to get into the hole.
  21. The years of delay and lack of prosecution makes it pretty clear that all parties and folks are involved in some aspect.
  22. Yesterday
  23. Or… the Dems don’t want to expose their dirty laundry as well.
  24. My backyard...he was in full grunt. Local photographer got some great snaps.
  25. Dibs!
  26. i agree 100%. and it shows how powerful the forces behind Epstein are. remember he was given a sweetheart deal under the bush administration. this is a bipartisan issue any American who cares about who truly is running the country can get behind. trump is probably not in the files (that'd have come out in 2016, 2020, or 2024 election cycle), but he's obviously being pressured to not disclose them.
