  1. How heavily did you study the gouge they send you before you went to Memphis? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. For those that have taken the written, can you bring anything into the testing center like a calculator/phone or equations for some of the questions? I'm sure it varies on the testing center used but figured I'd ask. I'd love to take my iPad in with Sheppard Air on it but I'm sure that's frowned upon. Thanks.
  3. Shack. I was drunk and pissed for you guys reading the last few posts last night. Just thinking of a way to get blue to hold a promise they made. You nailed it though. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you can't deploy with a "minor medical issue," correct? What's stopping people from claiming these "issues?" Other than possibly screwing the next guy... If you are really going to lose a job opportunity, I would think about it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. That's hilarious. So, if they got "Space Required" on their orders, they could theoretically hop on a -17 bound for Ramstein and should have no real issues, right?
  6. Random question... My cousin is an the Army and owns an ridiculously large dog. He is PCSing to England soon and the airlines apparently don't have/can't support a crate that is large enough for the dog. They thought about the Space A option but have been getting the run around from different AMC terminals. Some have told them it will not be a problem to fly Space A with the dog, some have said absolutely not. They would obviously like to have a solid answer rather than show up and it not work out. I was under the impression that the only animals allowed on AMC aircraft were military working/SS dogs. Since it is under a PCS would the rules be different? Thoughts?
  7. I think MFOQA (Can't remember what it stands for) is info pulled off the jet with no repercussions. The ASAP program is the self-reporting, supposedly anonymous, program. How is it anonymous if there is a "24 hour period" and they can find out who you are if there are cases of "willful disregard"? Doesn't seem so anonymous to me... AMC will eat their own and make it look like they are helping you out. I think it is a great idea, but I don’t trust it. Edit: Looks like gear pig beat me to it.
  8. Just got to Chucktown and after looking at about a hundred places to rent I'm pretty exhausted. Unfortunately nothing worthwhile is open downtown because of school and not much opens up until August. I found a place called Harbor Pointe Apartments in Mount Pleasant, pretty much at the foot of the Ravenel Bridge. It seems like the perfect location and looks nice (I toured it today), but after reading the reviews I got concerned. Anyone have any experience with them? I was planning on having a roommate and it is a 2bed/2bath for $1000/month. Sorry for the long windedness... Thanks for the help. Cheers!
  9. Just out of curiosity, because I am researching the hell out of this thing... If you look at it from a rent point of view, let's say you rent at $1000/month to make the math easy. At the end of 3 years you would have put $36k into rent (or $48k for 4 years). Even if you sell 3-4 years down the road for the same amount you bought, wouldn't it be worth it even factoring in closing costs, fees, interest, etc? You get tax benefits, the difference, and you don't live in a shitty crash pad while you are home. Please tell me if this argument is flawed. Just the way I see it I guess.
  10. Champ and GSXR, Thought about those things for sure. I have run through the options, from a 5th wheel, to cheap furnished apartments, to crash pads and bros houses... The way I see it, I would rather have the equity and I'm really tired of living out of a suitcase (I've been doing it for awhile now and I would like to just come home and chill when I get the opportunity... with my own shit!). I just really hope I get awesome neighbors.... I have heard of some local PDs having programs where you tell them you will be gone and they put it on an officers route every week or so just to look and make sure things are going alright. Anyone heard of this before?
  11. Dudes, I'm about to buy my first house and I was curious what y'all do to prepare your house for both long deployments and 3-6 week trips and TDYs? I'm expecting about 250+ days gone in the next year... I'm single and was just wondering if y'all have a checklist of things to do/shut off/hire people for, since no one will be there to take care of the day to day stuff? Googled a bunch of stuff but it was just random things here and there. I'm looking for more of an all/mostly encompassing checklist. Thanks, Banquet
  12. Anyone know if they will pay to let a single dude w/no kids get a vasectomy? Rumor is you have to have at least two kids, I call BS.
  13. FYI, the O-Club at a certain South Texas UPT base is now charging all non-club members $5 to get into each drop night...including the studs that are dropping...who are forced to have their drop at the O-Club...who just spent $400 on two kegs and food....which could only be purchased from the club. UFB. It's gonna be dead tomorrow night.
  14. Dudes, On the topic of tattoos. Someone once told me that "Last Name" tattoos are a pretty big deal to the spec ops community. I see their point but I was just curious what people know, specifically for pilots? Any reality to this? I mean, they don't give you a full body search before getting selected for spec ops jobs. Discuss.... Thanks
