The finance guys told me that big blue automatically takes 25% of it for taxes. You have no choice. Now what you actually pay out of it at the end of the year depends on your particular situation...obviously. If anyone knows of a way to get the AF to NOT take that chunk out automatically, please let us know.

That's interesting. I'm dealing with the exact opposite. My cc agrees with me that I should be extended since I could be better utilized if I remain in place instead of moving twice in a matter of a few months. Unfortunately, the functional doesn't see it that way and says I should move anyway and to "not worry about it because it is on the Air Force's dime anyways." Mover's come on the 26th, and if I don't get approval for an extension by this Thursday, then I'll be making a call to the ig since they aren't following the vsp psdm guidance for people in our situation. So I put in for a deros extension (May to July) a few weeks ago to allow time for a response to my vsp app. Even though it clearly states in the vsp psdm that personnel should extend their deros, AFPC declined my request this week. These functionals are completely out of control. They actually said, "well the Air Force is moving you anyway, so they'll just move you again if your vsp is approved." Anyone know how far the vsp apps go? Does it stop at AFPC or go the SECAF level? I would think that since it is categorized as a "SECAF early release program" That it would go to her level, but who knows?

Just curious...what are the UAS guys (not 1st assignment) being told right now after the amended PSDM. Eligible or no? Does your RDTM reflect a UAS or your prior MWS?
