From a multigun match a few weeks ago. Not sure why the cameraman didn’t open the iris on his tube more to let more light in, so it’s kind of dark.

Well I’ve been away for sometime and happened upon BaseOps via some checkride stuff. Thought I’d visit the old forums and check out my favorite thread Gun Talk. Nice to see some of the OG posters still participating. All that said… I can’t abide by the Beretta shit talk haha. 92X Performance purchased from LTT with their trigger job. I eventually sent it back to them for an optics cut and now it sits as configured in the pictures below. And in action:
  4. It wasn't taken down because of opsec. The guy who created the video was told to take it down because he didn't ask for permission. He is turning it over to PA so it can be "vetted" first.

Is your 10.5" upper pistol length too or is it actually carbine length? I've never seen a pistol length gas system on a 10.5" as the carbine length gas system is more appropriate for that length of barrel for a few reasons.
  7. I wonder if he was just trolling. He also looks like Tom Cruise. Tessa's facial expressions during that guy's monologue were pretty funny too.

Based on small parts quality, the Valor is better than the TRP. You can't go wrong with either though. Both are still production guns, but they are at the higher end of the production 1911 price range. Also, consider the Colt Special Combat Government line (if you can find one). They're built in the Colt Custom Shop but technically aren't custom guns either. http://www.colt.com/Catalog/Pistols/SpecialCombatGovernment®.aspx

The Springfield TRP is one of the best production 1911s. Your next step is the semi-custom and custom realm.

M2, I have a Ruger American in .30-06 that I took a doe with in 2013. It's a great economy rifle. I'm sure the rimfire variant works just as well. It's pretty nice it will take the 10/22 magazines. You're going to have to buy one of the Ruger BX-25 mags just to use it with your rifle.
  12. Best Fourth of July fireworks finale ever! I hope no one was hurt, though.

What's wrong with 9mm? Service/duty handgun calibers are poor at incapacitating individuals unless you shoot them in the CNS, and even that isn't a guarantee. Ball ammo, whether it's 9mm, .40 S&W, .45 ACP, etc., is a poor choice of ammo, so switching to a larger caliber really only affords you less ammo, more expensive ammo, and a heavier recoiling weapon. 9mm is the more logical choice for a large armed force (mil, LE). Modern hollowpoint technology has bridged the gap between the common service calibers, unfortunately the military proper doesn't use them. As an individual, carrying any of the aforementioned calibers in a modern hollowpoint works, but it still doesn't change the fact that a larger caliber bullet provides less capacity, is more costly, and is generally harder to shoot for most people. http://soldiersystems.net/2014/09/25/fbi-9mm-justification-fbi-training-division/

http://www.beretta.com/en-us/beretta-usa-presents-next-generation-handgun-to-the-department-of-defense/ It looks like the grip from a vertec and the rail from the 92A1/96A1. I wonder if they use the buffer and recoil spring/guide rod from the 92A1/96A1. If so, that would make those parts incompatible with every other Beretta 90 series gun with slide mounted safety (other than the 90-Two, 92A1, and 96A1). It would also not make it possible to use the slide or frame of those pistols on other Berettas, like legacy M9s or M9A1s. The vertec grip, rail, and night sights with dovetailed front are good changes. Interesting to see what comes out of the handgun competition next year.

Modern FG42. It looks like they will be making a reproduction of the late model FG42, and they are entertaining the idea of making a modern variant of it as well. www.smgguns.com https://www.full30.com/video/cbd7a17a8918455ec9bc00fa2cfb09fa https://www.full30.com/video/f33231c7bbff5febfcc8d6d1ff6d9f44
