  1. At some point in your career, you will realize how little the Air Force actually cares about your flying ability.
  2. hey guys, guard dude here making my last trip to Altus soon, are crash pads still approved without a non-a? I read a few pages of this thread and I can't really follow it. Just have no desire to stay on base, tell me I still can still stay off, Thanks!
  3. Never experiencing active duty is like saying you never got to experience prison or priest molestation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. To me it's simple. If you desire a long career focused totally on flying (in an actual plane), AD isn't the best way to go. There is nothing wrong with telling people that.
  5. I too received my $58k today, I wish all jobs I quit could end up like this Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Funding fee is based in how much you put down, google it and you can see a chart. I believe if you put 5-10% down your funding fee is 1% of your loan. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Delta, and American, get your apps in Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I also guarantee there are a few states here watching this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. 1. UAVs suck, but your life is stable. 2. If "the schools suck," sell your boat/motorcycle/other toy and do private school. 3. Vegas isn't bad, the commute sucks, but theres no traffic on the way to work. 4. Keep flying at KVGT to stay current. 5. Get out of the Air Force when able. 6. FAIP hours don't count? You sound like a tool. Peace
  10. War is hell. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Go on prda or pull your surf and look for your rdtm code, that is what makes you eligible or not. Many of us carried the 11m label but were flying with acc and AFSOC and got paroled. Good luck Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. You do deploy less than most traditional pilots. We worked 8 hour shifts at creech, but showed earlier/left later a lot. With the commute, plan on being gone 10-11 hours a day. Your flight hours don't count for anything. Overall it's a very boring job with almost no satisfaction. The pay is good though. I would consider other things before this, the community is pretty much a black hole that I tried like hell to get out of. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. It shouldn't take math to prove it's a disadvantage financially to stay in, thats why a "bonus" is offered. If it made financial sense to stay in, they wouldn't need to offer incentives. That being said, theres nothing wrong with staying in, especially if you don't want to fly when you get out. Just don't bitch when you get a 365, they have you by the balls if you sign up for more pain after your 10 years.
  14. Why don't you just go talk to a recruiter? If you have had serious legal issues, the army is more forgiving on those kinds of things than the af is. I know several dudes with duis in college that fly choppers for them now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
