NAS Whiting Field (VT-3) Weekly Track Select

12 Feb 09

T-1 x 2 (USAF)

Fixed-Wing x 1 (USCG)

Rotary x 3 (USMC)

Rotary x 1 (USN)

Props x 2 (Indian Navy)

19 Feb 09

T-1 x 1 (USAF)

T-44 x 1 (USAF)

Note: No T-38s have dropped at Whiting (for AF studs, obviously) since mid-November. No helos since then either, likely because two were given out at the same drop. Unusually large numbers of AF studs track selecting over the next three weeks -- should be interesting.

A-10 guard to MI

C-17s to McChord, McGuire, and Charleston. 135 to Fairchild and McConnell. UAVs 2 Cannon 1 Creech. I think a -38 stud got Cannon, but I'm not 100%

the guy who got the -15C and the guy who got the b-1 were the happiest I've seen at a drop night since I've been at CAFB in November. It was awesome to see. The b-1 stud really wanted b-2 but since they gave out 2 already he knew he couldn't get it so B-1 was his first choice. Overall, I'd say it was above average -38 drop and about average -1 drop. I don't know who wanted what, but most guys seemed pretty happy (except the one of the FAIPs) and the UAV dudes.

I'm just happy to see some "B" and "F" type aircraft in the -38 drops again. Maybe they'll start handing out more than 2 -38s per class soon...I hope...

Congrats to all the 0905/06 guys.

PC-12: Pilatus, AFSOC, Cannon

U-28: Pilatus, AFSOC, Hurlburt

MC-12: King Air, ACC, TBD (fingers crossed for Beale!)

The AF has done a wonderfully confusing job in the designation department on these new aircraft.
