WP FC1 Waiver Guide Confusion

Recommended Posts

Forgive my ignorance on the subject but the current 2019 WP waiver guide for asthma states that an MCT is NOT recommended for a waiver submission. Does this mean us asthmatic applicants don't need to take the MCT at the FC1 anymore?

Nope, bad info.  IFC I applicants need to take a MCT when indicated.

Do you know this as fact? Will a MCT within the past 12 months suffice? Thanks.

I don't know if I'd go that far.  But, I certainly try to offer the best information I can.

Generally speaking, the AF does not take testing done by civilians.  Not 100% of the time, but if the AF has the capability and expertise to perform an evaluation themselves, they will.  I've personally seen many cases where a civilian doc will write a glowing report to support a patient who is paying them, despite the findings not supporting their diagnosis.
