Quote 2018: Nov 17, N41321, crashed, Cowden Ward Jr., pilot and passenger (a veteran not yet named) were killed when the P-51 crashed into an apartment complex parking lot after the engine was heard sputtering. Nobody on the ground was hurt. Ward was attending the November WWII Pacific Combat Program at the National Museum of the Pacific War in Fredricksburg, TX. He and his passenger had finished a flyover and were returning to the airport. Cowden Ward Jr. had been given rides to veterans across the USA for several years. Mr. Losada, a B-17 bombardier, lost his right arm after being hit by flak while returning from his 25th mission in the European Theater. 93 year old San Antonio man identified as 2nd victim in fatal Fredericksburg plane crash 1st Lt Vincent Losada, 839th Bomb Squadron, 487th Bomb Group.
